If you’re navigating food scarcity right now, we want to validate that food scarcity is a nervous-system stressor, changing hunger cues, making eating feel more emotional or urgent, and intensifying binge–restrict cycles.

None of that is a personal failure. It’s your body protecting you.

During the holidays, the pressure only grows: expectations around meals, cultural traditions, family dynamics, the constant messaging about “indulgence” and “willpower.”

If this season feels heavier than joyful, we want you to know that makes sense.

You deserve gentleness, dignity, and support, especially in a season that demands so much.

We’re thrilled to introduce you to Katie!

Katie was inspired to enter the field of nutrition after a family member had a positive experience with a Health At Every Size (HAES) aligned dietitian. She considers it a privilege to partner with clients as they work to support their well-being, improve their relationship with food, and address nutrition concerns.

If you’re looking for support from Katie or anyone on our team, please head to our bio link to submit your information!

Cultural food anxiety isn’t about being “dramatic” or “too sensitive.” It’s what happens when tradition, identity, and diet culture collide.

🧠 Therapy helps you understand why these moments feel so charged—the family expectations, the fear of judgment, the pressure to belong—and gives you grounding tools, boundary language, and self-compassion practices so you can show up in a way that feels safe and authentic.

🥣 Nutrition support helps you rebuild trust with the foods you grew up with by challenging weight-centric myths, reconnecting you to the nourishment and comfort these dishes offer, and helping you create flexible, supportive strategies for cultural gatherings.

If you’re looking for dual support like this, from an affirming, trauma-informed, compassionate, weight-inclusive team of professionals, we’d love to help you.

GREAT NEWS! 🎉

If you missed the last caregiver workshop, there’s another opportunity to participate!

Holidays and vacation weeks can be challenging for individuals with eating disorders and their caregivers. Increased social activity, different food situations and extended periods of unstructured time make eating more difficult. It helps to have a plan and tools to navigate these periods effectively and with as little conflict as possible.

In this session, we provide applicable tools caregivers can use to help make holiday breaks more successful for those in recovery and the people who love them. 🤗

The workshop will cover:

💫Time management and structuring vacation time

💫 Managing eating routine on holidays
Meal support skills

💫 Navigating different meal settings
What to do if diet talk comes up at the holiday table

💫 How to respond when a loved one comments on your child’s body

💫 Pre-gaming: helping set your child up for success

💫 Effective communication skills

💫 Coping skills for caregivers

💫Supporting your child through pitfalls

Set yourself and your loved one with an eating disorder up for success this holiday season. Planning ahead and acquiring helpful tools will help decrease stress and conflict down the road. 👌🏽

We will be recording the session and will send this to all participants along with a downloadable PDF booklet you can use as a reference and also share with family members.

Will you join us?!! 😊🤗

You don’t owe anyone an explanation.

Especially during a season where food, family, and cultural expectations collide in complicated ways.

Holiday traditions can hold both deep meaning and deep pressure. And when you’re navigating disordered eating, trauma, or simply trying to care for your nervous system, those expectations can feel even heavier.

You’re not being disrespectful, failing your culture, or letting anyone down, despite what people might say or insinuate.

We hope you can choose what’s best for you and show up for yourself first and foremost.

Swipe for some of the common, but often invisible, ways weight bias surfaces in healthcare.

Note: The terms “obesity” and “overweight” are frequently used in medical research, but they pathologize body size and reflect weight bias.

As a practice, we intentionally avoid using these terms. However, because they appear in some of the research we reference, you may see them in the linked studies. While we do not endorse this language, we believe the research findings are important to share.

Food can be comforting, social, and nourishing, but for some people, especially those with food OCD, it is the complete opposite.

Individuals with food-related obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) experience intrusive, distressing thoughts and ritualized behaviors centered on eating, food purity, contamination, or rigid “safety” rules.

People with food OCD might avoid whole food groups, spend hours planning or checking meals, refuse to eat foods prepared by others, or compulsively research “safe” ingredients.

These behaviors look similar to both classic OCD and certain eating disorder patterns, and they can be physically and emotionally exhausting.

Looking for support with your food OCD? We’d love to help you. Head to our bio link to request a call with our client coordinator today.

Many people internalize stigma, blaming themselves, feeling shame, or believing they are unworthy of care.

These psychological burdens can lead to depression, anxiety, disordered eating, and reduced self-efficacy in managing health.

Finding healing support that can address both of these things is necessary for long-term recovery. You are not alone and help is available.
