Take Me Out to the Ball Game was the mantra here at Cushing Park! We enjoyed a fabulous trip to our local WooSox game at the beautiful new Polar Park in Worcester. Treats, smiles, and hometown cheers were the order of the day. A great day was had by all.

A great lawn party was hosted by Linda and Stephen F. this past weekend to view a spectacular fireworks display directly adjacent to Cushing Park, hosted by the city of Framingham, celebrating Independence Day. Nothing says the 4th of July better than a beautiful summer night with friends, fun, and colorful fireworks lighting the sky.

Carone B. and Howard F. were classmates many years ago, unbeknownst to each other until they met here at Brookdale Cushing Park. In a random discussion, they each learned this interesting bit of information. Recently, they shared their yearbook photos, both being in the exact same class. It is a small world indeed!

Our resident, Jack C., celebrated his 100th birthday here at Brookdale Cushing Park surrounded by family and friends. The Bronze Star World War 2 veteran was a combat medic in the 82nd Airborne Division, participating in the D-Day Invasion and at the Battle of the Bulge. Happy birthday, Jack, and thank you for your service and for being a valued member of our Cushing Park family.

Paint and Sip classes here at Cushing Park are the perfect combination of art and wine tasting. Led by a talented artist who is also a Certified Wine Specialist, residents are guided step by step through a chosen artwork while sipping, if they choose, a specific wine selected from various regions of the world. Recently, we worked on a Van Gogh piece, and another class was themed "painted treasure boxes." There were so many fabulous renditions, and many residents enjoy these wonderful cultural afternoons.

Happy Memorial Day to all. We are celebrating with a fabulous BBQ in our beautiful courtyard. Kudos to our amazing kitchen team who make it all look effortless along with our great entertainer, Tom Madden, for regaling us with such patriotic music.
