Hey all- I am offering my third open IG live at 10 to discuss the how-to's of the new LCSW Protocol offered by BCBS of MA. To join, follow , and join the live at 10! If you can't catch it, there are three videos saved for you to look at, and you can reach out to me later at [email protected] if you've got any questions-- if there are a lot I might even schedule another live. It's a significant step towards offering the excellent care that LCSWs can provide in private practcie settings- even wider parameters than the other companies that offer this-- but of course you need to do it ethically, supportedly, and withint the guidelines to make sure the client and the LCSW (and the LICSW supervisor) are supported and on solid ground. Dear wonderful TLG community-- we hope you are all well and navigating this public health crisis as well as you can. It's a LOT. We at TLG have been working hard contacting each of our current clients and helping you to transition your care to telephonic or televideo options, and making plans with you to make sure you have enough support to get through this difficult time. We are also working hard advocating with your insurance companies to get you the best benefits you can, like waiving costshare for the plans that have agreed to this. We know it's a stressful time, and we want to do as much as we can to support you and your families. We have also begun now to take new intakes via Televideo for individual therapy and med management, and also to recruit for new online group offerings, such as our New Parent Group called This Kinda Sucks, starting a week from Tuesday! Please continue to reach out to our Intake Line at 857-273-2124 if you need therapy, medication, a referral or other resource, and we will do our best to help. Many kids wrestle with anxiety, whether it's imaginary worries like the monster under the bed or real-life concerns like being separated from a parent or handling new social situations. And as any parent who's had to prove the closet is empty for the hundredth time can tell you, these fears don't necessarily respond to logic or reassurance! Good morning Boston! Hope all of our dear clients are staying warm. Our snow policy is that we do not "close" unless there is a parking ban in the City, which there is not at this point. We are open and ready to serve you. If you have a question, the phones are currently being monitored, and we can call you back to help. The meeting yesterday to present this report was a good one. It started with our social worker Secretary of Health and Human Services Marylou Sudders admitting that we can't even really call what we have here a 'system,' as it has so many holes in it. There is political will to make things better by policy, and we are part of an impassioned and skilled workforce that asks for rates to be fair and working conditions to be reasonable, which they largely are not at this point. We continue to advocate and bring your voices as our valued clients forward, and will always do so. We can do better Boston, and we are committed to making that happen.
