Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers Adds Three Board Members
Leaders from BAMSI, Cape Abilities, and WORK Inc. Appointed as Directors

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (Oct. 15, 2025) – The Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers (ADDP), a statewide association representing community-based human services providers, today announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors.

The new directors are:

• Peter Evers, President and CEO of BAMSI;
• Kim McElholm, President and CEO of Cape Abilities; and
• Sharon Smith, CEO of WORK Inc.

“ADDP is strengthened by the leadership and vision of these new directors, who deeply understand the challenges that provider organizations face in Massachusetts,” said ADDP President & CEO Stephanie Costa. “Their insights from within our network of providers will be invaluable as we work to advance sustainable supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism and brain injuries, their families, and the workforce that supports them.”

“Peter, Kim, and Sharon each bring to the board unique perspectives of the human impact of their organizations’ work,” said ADDP Board Chair Diane Gould. “ADDP is enhanced by our collaboration across organizations, and I am confident that their leadership will move our network forward and help shape our advocacy efforts to address the stability of the human services workforce and ensure that our system honors the dignity of the people we serve.”

With the new appointments, ADDP has expanded to a total of 25 directors.

Peter Evers is the President and CEO of BAMSI, which provides comprehensive health and human services to individuals and families across Massachusetts. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the mental health and human services fields. A licensed clinical social worker, Evers has held leadership roles spanning emergency, residential, and outpatient services, including as President and CEO of Riverbend Community Mental Health Inc. and Vice President for Behavioral Health at Concord Hospital.

The South Boston resident earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and business studies from Sheffield Hallam University in England and holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Kent in England.

Kim McElholm is the President and CEO of Cape Abilities, which is dedicated to serving adults with disabilities on Cape Cod. She has over two decades of experience in human services, guiding teams and programs that expand opportunities for the individuals they serve. McElholm held positions as Cape Abilities’ interim President and CEO and Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations before stepping into her current role.

The Harwich resident holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Assumption College.

Sharon Smith is the CEO of WORK Inc., the largest employer of people with disabilities in the region, serving over 1,500 individuals with all types of disabilities. With more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Smith is committed to developing and implementing service models that promote the employment and support of individuals with disabilities. She has held a myriad of management positions at WORK Inc. in her 26-year tenure.
