It's always great to have a nice review when clients return home. These folks visited Royalton St Lucia.
Ellen, thank you so much for helping us with this. I'm also happy that you enjoyed your Jamaica vacation. We had a great time. St. Lucia has been my absolute favorite place so far. Prior to this it was Barbados but St. Lucia won my heart.
We were so glad to have Diamond Club at the Royalton because the amenities were great. Everyone was unbelievably nice and welcoming. This is my 3rd Royalton resort and by far my favorite. It's older and noticeable but still very clean with great restaurants. We loved every restaurant including the buffet. We ordered room service a couple of times and that was great as well. Diamond club helps a great deal due to the amenities, but I feel I would still enjoy the resort without it. The resort also has good entertainment, and plenty of bars.
The island is beautiful with gorgeous mountains and beaches. There is a street party every Friday and it is a must. Matter of fact every local will ask if you are going and give you recommendations on where to eat. It is recommended to go to Duke's for seafood because everything is fresh from the island. I felt safe off the resort the entire time and had no issues.
The staff on our excursions were also friendly. We did a boat tour that included snorkeling, going to the famous volcanic mud baths, and the waterfall. We also did the Sea Trek, walking on the ocean floor, it was a great experience.
You will experience nothing different from any other Carribean island. People on the beach of the resort and at popular tourist spots trying to sell you things. They are not overly pushy and a polite no thank you works fine.
I would recommend St. Lucia and the resort and give it a 10/10. The only con is that the resort is about a 1hr 45min drive from the airport. The drivers will make it a sightseeing and educational journey. They will point out important areas and historical places. They will also provide education. The long drive allows for photos, an insight into the culture and fun facts about the island.
