Throwback to 1965 at The Ranch 🐎
Long before The Ranch became a place for therapy, connection, community events, and healing… it was home to something pretty incredible.

This newspaper clipping from October 7, 1965 highlights the “World’s Fastest Quarter Horses” racing at Triple R Ranch right here in Frankfort. Horses from 12 different states came to compete, with major stakes races, nationally known owners, celebrities in attendance, and some of the top Quarter Horses in the country racing on these grounds.

At the time, Quarter Horse racing was just beginning to grow in the Midwest, and Triple R Ranch played a role in bringing the sport to Illinois. Thousands gathered to watch these powerful horses compete on the Rio Rita track, making The Ranch a destination long before many people even knew Frankfort for what it is today.

It’s amazing to think about the history these grounds hold — from championship racehorses in the 1960s to the therapy horses, donkeys, families, clients, and community programs that fill The Ranch today. Different purpose… same spirit of bringing people together. ❤️

We love preserving the history of this special place while continuing to build its future.

This series is a great opportunity for ALL riders! Whether you want to ride a new test, get some feedback from the judge at your current level, or need to knock off some ring rust before going to a big rated show, this circuit is for you.

There are four total shows throughout the summer including a Championship at the end of September. Special awards including high point, best turnout horse/rider pair, and more will be given out at each and every show! Qualify for Championships and join us at the end of the year banquet for even more exciting surprises!

This is a circuit you won't want to miss as we continue to grow towards bigger and exciting things in the near future!

Looking for a meaningful, engaging program for an adult with intellectual or developmental disabilities?

At Coping Together at The Ranch, we offer professionally led small-group programming designed to help adults build friendships, confidence, independence, and important life skills in a supportive environment.

Participants enjoy activities that promote:

✅ Social and emotional learning

✅ Emotional regulation and coping skills

✅ Problem-solving and life skills development

✅ Animal-assisted therapy experiences

Our groups are led by Licensed Clinicians, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and a Licensed Physical Therapist, providing a level of professional support that goes beyond a traditional day program.

📅 Thursday Group: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

🏡 Medicaid Funding Accepted

Located at The Ranch in Frankfort, participants experience the benefits of animals, nature, creativity, movement, and community while learning skills that support success in everyday life.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their bravery, selflessness, and dedication have protected the freedoms we enjoy every day. As we gather with family and friends, may we take a moment to reflect on those who gave everything and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.

We are forever grateful to our fallen heroes and will never forget their sacrifice.

Today was a special day at The Ranch as we had the opportunity to attend the Rich Township Student Recognition Ceremony and celebrate an incredible group of students who have dedicated their time, energy, and hearts to serving our Ranch community throughout the school year.

From working in the barn and helping care for our animals, to preparing spaces for therapy sessions, educational programs, and community events, these students have played an important role in helping The Ranch remain a welcoming, beautiful, and meaningful place for everyone who visits. Whether they were working indoors or outdoors, setting up programming areas, assisting with daily tasks, or simply stepping in wherever help was needed, they always showed up with positive attitudes and a willingness to serve.
Their hard work often happened behind the scenes, but the impact they made was seen every single day. Because of their dedication, our participants, families, animals, staff, and visitors were able to enjoy a safe, organized, and caring environment.

We are incredibly grateful for each student, their teachers, support staff, and the entire Rich Township program for partnering with us this year. Thank you for trusting us to be a part of your learning experience and for allowing these amazing young adults to share their talents with our Ranch family.

Congratulations on a wonderful year and on today's recognition. We are proud of all you have accomplished and thankful for everything you have done to make The Ranch a better place. We look forward to seeing all the amazing things your future holds!
