Today marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark civil rights law that has transformed access, opportunity, and equity for millions of people with disabilities.

We proudly honor the countless Deaf changemakers - students, alumni, faculty, and community leaders - who played a pivotal role in the passage of the ADA. From the powerful advocacy of the DPN4 (Deaf President Now 4) to the tireless organizing behind the scenes, our community ensured that Deaf people were included in this historic legislation.

The fight for disability rights is far from over, but today we celebrate how far we’ve come, and recommit to the work ahead.
