The United Nations General Assembly designated January 27—the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau—as International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a time to remember the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and the millions of other victims of N**i persecution.

As we are witnessing an alarming rise of antisemitism around the globe, it is more important than ever for us to recognize the critical lessons of Holocaust history as we commemorate the victims and honor the survivors.

The Path to N**i Genocide Video
The film examines the N**is’ rise and consolidation of power in Germany. Using rare footage, the film explores their ideology, propaganda, and persecution of Jews and other victims. It also outlines the path by which the N**is and their collaborators led a state to war and to the murder of millions of people. By providing a concise overview of the Holocaust and those involved, this resource is intended to provoke reflection and discussion about the role of ordinary people, institutions, and nations between 1918 and 1945.

World Leprosy Day. Leprosy is a neglected tropical disease (NTD) which still occurs in more than 120 countries. Each year, up to 225 people in the U.S. and 250,000 around the world are diagnosed.

This international day is an opportunity to celebrate people who have experienced leprosy, raise awareness of the disease, and call for an end to leprosy-related stigma and discrimination.

Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease caused by a type of bacteria, Mycobacterium leprae. The disease predominantly affects the skin and peripheral nerves. Left untreated, the disease may cause progressive and permanent disabilities

NWS Alert! Isolated Snow Showers
702 PM EST Thu Jan 23 2025
..Isolated Snow Showers This Evening...

Occasional flurries and isolated snow showers will be possible
through the late evening hours as a cold front passes through the
region. Accumulations, if any, will be localized and minor. A
quick dusting up to around a half inch is possible, but this will
be pretty spotty.

Any light snow shower could cause a sudden drop in visibility on
roadways this evening. Any accumulation will also lead to slick
spots on roads, especially untreated surfaces. Temperatures will
also rapidly drop below freezing this evening, increasing the
concern for slick conditions tonight. Temperatures will drop into
the teens by daybreak Friday, with wind chills in the single
digits to teens.
