We closed out National Nursing Home Week with our residents painting flower pots and enjoying cupcakes courtesy of Heartland Hospice.
It has been an amazing week celebrating both our residents and staff. A huge shout out to Sarah Littler, Activity Director, and her assistant, Cassandra Norman for the creativity, hard work, and dedication that brought each daily theme and activity to fruition. Thank you for making so many special memories bloom throughout the week!

Hat day at Valley View during National Nursing Home Week!

Residents and staff spent the day designing beautiful hats with floral décor, ribbons, and fun embellishments. Everyone enjoyed showing off their hats and wearing them throughout the day. The smiles, laughter, and teamwork made the event fun and another special “Moments in Bloom” memory for all!

Day 3 of National Nursing Home Week was a sweet success with our Dirty Soda Bar being the highlight of the day! Residents and staff had so much fun creating their own delicious drinks, and Cassandra truly enjoyed serving everyone with a smile.

A special thank you to NCR Hospice for their generous donation of supplies that helped make this event possible and enjoyable for all. We appreciate your continued support and partnership in creating special moments for our residents and staff during our “Moments in Bloom” week!

Today at Valley View we celebrated “WearYellow Day” during National Nursing Home Week

Residents and staff enjoyed fresh lemonade, delicious “Dirt Dessert,” yellow themed goody bags, and an exciting staff scavenger hunt! Congratulations to Toni and Skyann for outrunning the competition and taking home the win!
Our “Moments in Bloom” week continues to bring lots of fun to everyone at Valley View. Stay tuned for more special activities throughout the week!

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Valley View!

We recently celebrated our beautiful ladies with a Mother’s Day Tea as we officially kick off National Nursing Home Week!

As you can see by the pictures how much the ladies enjoyed their special day. Sarah and her team did a wonderful job and everything was beautiful.

Manager Spotlight
Michelle Unger, Director of Nursing

We are proud to recognize Michelle Unger, our wonderful Director of Nursing, who has been a valued part of the Valley View team for an impressive 16 years.

Michelle brings strong leadership and a wealth of knowledge of memory care, including caring for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Her leadership and support has created an awesome team of nurses and nursing assistants that feel empowered to provide excellent care to our residents.

Known for her ability to make things work out even with the most challenging situations, Michelle consistently works to find solutions that lead to positive outcomes. Her team respects and appreciates her commitment, knowledge and leadership.

Michelle is truly loved and appreciated by staff, residents and family members. We are grateful to have her lead our clinical team.

Thank you Michelle for all you do and thank you for 16 years of providing excellent nursing supervision.

Embassy of Valley View Manager Spotlight

This spotlight shines on Emma Leasure, Supervisor of our Maintenance and Laundry Departments.

Emma has proudly been a part of the Valley View team for an incredible 36 years! Her dedication, loyalty, and hard work have made a lasting impact on our residents, staff, and community.

Emma is someone everyone can count on. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it’s assisting residents to and from appointments or directing traffic each year when we sponsor Checkpoint #4 during the Buck 50 race. All that, while keeping things running smooth in her departments.

Many staff members say Emma gives the best hugs around , just one more reason she is so loved by all who know her.

Emma is a vital part of Valley View and is highly respected by staff, residents, family members, and community vendors alike.

Thank you, Emma, for all you do. You are greatly appreciated and loved!

Our residents have been busy and creative with multiple projects happening over the next few weeks! 🌸

We’ve started our seedlings indoors, and once they’re ready, they will be transplanted outside into containers.

We also had lots of fun making our Crazy Hair Cups!

In addition, several Mother’s Day craft projects are underway, along with adorable little Dixie Cup hanging planters.

More pictures coming soon as our residents complete these fun activities!

The Buck 50 organizers partnered with CCI to create and provide wrist bracelets for the runners to hand out to checkpoint volunteers as a thank-you for a job well done.

Some of our team volunteers proudly displaying the outpouring of appreciation from the runners. We are honored to have been part of such an amazing event and grateful for the kindness shown to our team.

Embassy of Valley View proudly hosted Checkpoint #4 for the Buck 50 Race this past Friday! Our entire management team, along with several team members, truly enjoyed welcoming all of the runners and their teams as they passed through.

We were happy to provide plenty of refreshments including Gatorade, our popular grilled hotdogs, Carolyn Unger’s famous no-bake cookies, a variety of chips, pretzels, peanut butter crackers, and bottled water.

We also handed out giveaways such as cooling towels (which were definitely appreciated in the warm but beautiful weather) and muscle massagers to help keep everyone going strong!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and allowed us to be part of such an amazing event. We are already looking forward to next year’s race
