✨Summer & Chinese medicine

✨Summer solstice marks the beginning of the season of abundance.Through the lens of Chinese Medicine, it is the most yang day of the year–the apex of summer. With the many hours of daylight, the energy and bounty of summer is the ideal time for socializing, nurturing creative projects, and making time for exercise outside.

✨The Season of the Heart and the Fire Element
Organ: the organ associated with summer is the Heart. The Heart is the emperor of the human body, it governs blood and is responsible for the Shen (Mind)

✨Summer is a time when imbalanced heat patterns can show up more pronounced. When the Heart is out of balance, people may experience:
* Insomnia * Palpitations * Red complexion * Excessive sweating * Irritability, anxiety, restlessness * Depression or mania * Speech problems

✨Diet to support the body during summer:
Fruit: Apple, lemon, kiwi, watermelon, orange, pear, pineapple, tangerine
Cooling foods: Cucumber, endive hearts, spinach, tomato, salads, yogurt, wheat, barley, fish, mint, dill, cilantro
Drinks: Lots of water, watermelon juice, green tea
Avoid: Hot and dry foods such as coffee, excessively spicy foods, ice cold foods like ice cream since they cause the digestive system to slow down.

✨Self care:
Summer is a great time to continue or start Acupuncture treatments that are uplifting for yang, qi (energy), and blood.
* Wake up earlier in the morning and rest at midday
* Seek water to balance the Fire element: cool baths & showers, swimming
* Seek activities that bring you joy and put you in a state of flow
* Nourish creative projects
* Find time to play like you did as a child

✨Acupuncture & Chinese herbs can help lower blood pressure naturally!

✨Acupuncture & Chinese herbs can help lower blood pressure naturally!

Many of you have heard me talk about my husband’s story. He had high blood pressure for years, was on western meds. He saw a licensed acupuncturist and was prescribed this formula along with regular acupuncture treatments . His BP is now perfect without any meds and/or herbs!

🧠 Tian Ma Gou Teng Yin

Heavenly H**p & Uncaria Decoction
(Based on Chen & Chen)

🌬️ What It’s For (Made Easy):

Feel like your brain’s about to blow? 😖
This formula helps when you’re feeling:
• 🔴 Tense, with pounding headaches or dizziness
• 💥 Overstimulated or easily angered
• 🌡️ Running “hot” — red face, restless, poor sleep
• 🧍‍♂️ Unsteady — shaking, tics, or muscle twitching
• 📈 High blood pressure with tension

In TCM, that’s called “Liver Yang Rising with Internal Wind & Yin Deficiency.”
Don’t worry — we’ll keep it simple 👇

🌿 Meet the Herbs (in plain English):

• Tian Ma (Gastrodia)
👉 Calms the nerves, relieves dizziness, stops tremors

• Gou Teng (Uncaria Vine)
👉 Relaxes tension and helps lower blood pressure

• Shi Jue Ming (Abalone Shell)
👉 Anchors excess energy in the head; helps headaches, eye strain

• Zhi Zi (Gardenia Fruit)
👉 Clears internal “heat,” cools irritability

• Huang Qin (Baikal Skullcap)
👉 Calms inflammation, especially when stress turns physical

• Sang Ji Sheng (Mulberry Mistletoe)
👉 Strengthens joints and lower back — often weak with stress

• Yi Mu Cao (Motherwort)
👉 Moves blood and relieves pressure in the head

• Du Zhong (Eucommia Bark)
👉 Supports the lower body and reduces tension

• Ye Jiao Teng (Polygonum Vine)
👉 A gentle herb that helps you relax and sleep

• Fu Shen (Poria with Root)
👉 Calms anxiety, overthinking, and restlessness

🧘‍♀️ In a Nutshell:

This formula cools your head, relaxes your body, and grounds your energy. Perfect for people who are hot-headed, dizzy, tense, or having trouble winding down.

⚠️ Use only with guidance from a licensed TCM practitioner.

✨Connection is an essential part of the human experience. Unfortunately, trauma and chronic stress can alter our nervous system so that we are wired for protection instead of connection.
If we want to truly heal, we need to be able to connect meaningful with ourselves and others. This is why we find healing in connection. Acupuncture can help your body get out of fight or flight and feel safe in your body. 🫶
