I am still trying to digest and/or analyze everything that happened during my 100mi Ultra at Tunnel Hill.

Of particular attention, is/was the fact that, unbeknownst to many, I had been plagued by multiple nagging injuries. The first of which occurred in April in the form of a R side inguinal hernia that led to a total deviation in my normal stride. That in turn gave way to a very pronounced piriformis/sciatica/hamstring hailstorm of discomfort.

I knew that the impending ramp up in mileage during training would be drastically reduced if I didn’t develop a strategy ASAP.

The plan was what I called “the kitchen sink”.

I started frequent and regular Magnesium Salt bath soaks. Good start. Mild relief. I needed something MORE.

I then thought back to my regimen while training for the USMC Marathon back in 2015.

Not only highly effective and instrumental in my training, I was recovering RAPIDLY. At the end of one session I came across a bottle of & decided to give it try for when my leg would occasionally flare up after longer runs.

At mile 88 at Tunnel Hill, the temps dropped precipitously and my legs became stiff and I could feel that old familiar sting in my R glute & hamstring. I grabbed my PRoZE cream and rubbed it quickly over my leg and without hesitation took off to complete the last 12mi stretch.

I hadn’t even ran 50 yds and my leg felt revived!! The mental boost from that alone probably led me to a 24:42:19 finish. I genuinely believe I owe my success to not only .frankfort.il but as well.
