Did you know that when you come in for your DOT Physical you have to leave a sample for a urine test?

Don’t worry, it isn’t a drug test. This urine analysis (UA) checks for specific gravity, protein, blood, and sugar and if indicated, means other tests may be needed to determine if you’re healthy to drive.

The UA for drug tests, well those are random & done at a lab…good luck with that!

Every 2 years a CDL holder needs to pass a DOT physical exam to keep their license current.

Did you know that if you had an illness, injury, or accident off the job, but it kept you from working, that you need to have a DOT physical before returning to driving?

I’m not talking about a cold or flu.

But yes, if you had an illness that kept you from working, an injury (think shoulder, back, knee injury, or surgery) or got messed up in a car accident off the job; not only will you need a clearance letter from your Primary Physician (or Specialist), but you will need a new DOT physical exam to determine if you’re fit for duty.
