Illinois Supply Company - Overdose Emergency Kit

Illinois Supply Company - Overdose Emergency Kit This epinephrine auto-injector storage cabinet includes everything needed for setup except the prescription medication itself. With anaphylaxis, seconds count.

Illinois Supply Company is the manufacturer of the Original Allergy Emergency Kit, The Original Overdose Emergency Kit and the LiveSafer Modular First Aid System. Serious food allergies are reaching a tipping point - approximately 8% of children in the United States have been diagnosed with a serious food allergy and even worse, 25% of all serious allergy incidents involve children who had not bee

n previously diagnosed as having an anaphylactic allergy. Common precautions taken for these children such as nut-free lunch tables and storage of epinephrine in the nurse's office was a start, but it is time for our society to move to the next level: ubiquitous availability of allergy emergency supplies. A misplaced epinephrine injector, an unavailable school nurse or a slow responding ambulance can have deadly results. At AEK, our vision is for the Good Samaritan - that street-smart lunch lady, parent, teacher or fellow student - to have the supplies necessary to save a life. We've heard for years about first aid, the Heimlich maneuver, about CPR, about defibrillators. Epinephrine is a miracle-drug - a critical lifesaving supply for the current era. The current paradigm is that epinephrine is a prescription medication that needs to be stored securely. And that is where the Original Allergy Emergency Kit comes in. The cabinet is intended to finally make epinephrine as available as a fire extinguisher or defibrillator. It is designed to be hung in school lunch rooms and hallways as well as any public place - as close to the point of need as possible. Under normal circumstances, a staff member of the institution will be able to calmly open the unit with their key in order to use the epinephrine and supplies. If a key is not available - for instance if an emergency occurs before or after school or on a weekend - an attached hammer can be used to break the proprietary safety glass to instantly access epinephrine, Benadryl and other such supplies. All parts on the unit are available as replacement parts.

“Drug-related deaths in Northeast Florida and statewide decreased dramatically between 2023 and 2024, according to a new report.”

Fewer deaths in Northeast Florida from fentanyl, co***ne, and oxycodone are attributed to several factors, including the increased availability of naloxone.

Thanks to Discover & Recover St. Johns County, we have a life-saving Naloxone Distribution box, affectionately known as "Barney," at our new location at 197 SR 16.

Making naloxone available is a significant step forward in providing a safe and stigma-free way for anyone to access this medication and help prevent opioid overdoses.
