                                            Let's talk about WATER!
Drinking water isn't something an average person does on a daily basis.
One of the questions I often ask my clients are "Are you drinking water" and then "how much"?
Most of my clients will respond to drinking water but never enough of what they should be drinking to maintain a well hydrated body. I usually explain to my clients the importance of water and how hydration can be more of a benefit than eating a well nutrient diet. However, a well nutrient diet and adequate amounts of water is essential to our overall health.
Some of the key points that I mention to maintain a well hydrated body are:
* Digestion
* Lubrication of the joints
* Flushes out toxins in the body
* Prevents Dehydration
* Skin becomes dry and flakey
When we don't get enough water in our bodies, we often feel sluggish, tired, fatigued and drained. Then we'll look for something to give us a jump start and look for caffeinated drinks or even energy drinks. If we just took a little extra time to make sure, we're getting enough we can avoid all of those other sugary and caffeinated drinks that gives us a sudden crash once our bodies metabolize it out of our systems.
Not only is it the immediate response that our bodies react to what we put in our bodies, but it also affects our digestive system. Our digestive system aids in keeping our immune system strong and helps prevent us from getting sick. That is why water and diet play a huge role in being healthy. When we can flush out the toxins that build up from eating and drinking things that can reck havoc on our bodies we tend to develop diseases and imbalances.
The next question is:
How much Water should we drink on a daily basis?
I usually tell my clients drinking approx. half your body weight in ounces helps maintain adequate water consumption, depending on activity level. I recommend using a water jug and filling it up daily is one of the best ways to make sure you're drinking enough. Also, using a glass jug rather than plastic is best. If water isn't something that comes easy, getting a fruit/tea infuser can help with adding a little flavor without the calories into your water. Some people use an app or a health watch to keep track. Use whatever works best for you!
After every massage always drink more water to make sure you flush out the lactic acid that gets moved around to avoid soreness after your massage.
