Know someone that is on a GLP-1 or you take one yourself? Listen up! Substantial protein is CRITICAL!

You want to preserve Muscle Mass- so a high protein drink or meal helps. The number one rule of thumb is-Adequate protein helps protect lean muscle mass, ensuring more of the weight you lose comes from fat rather than muscle.

Support your Metabolism
Muscle tissue plays a key role in maintaining your resting metabolic rate. If muscle is lost during rapid weight loss, metabolism can slow. Protein helps maintain muscle, which helps keep your metabolic rate higher during the weight-loss phase.

Improve Satiety (Keeps You Fuller)
Protein is the most satiating macronutrient.

Prevent Hair Loss and skin Issues
Rapid weight loss—common with GLP-1 therapy—can sometimes lead to temporary hair thinning, sagging skin so collagen is a must.

Comment “go to” and I will share what I do for collagen and protein.

Real Talk with Coach Audrey: This edition is on how much protein you actually need and what some of my go to sources are. I tend to go for simple, reachable options to not over complicate the process.
Best Whole Food Protein Sources for Weight Loss:
Lean Meats/Poultry: Chicken breast and turkey are high in protein and low in fat, requiring more energy to digest.

Fish & Seafood: Salmon and tuna provide protein along with satiety-boosting healthy fats, while shrimp is almost pure, low-calorie protein.

Greek Yogurt & Cottage Cheese: Low-fat dairy provides high protein, calcium, and probiotics for metabolism.

Eggs: A complete, nutrient-dense protein source.

Comment “protein” if you want links to the supplements

About Audrey

As a health coach, I hope that sharing my story with you will spark the same kind of excitement about healthy living that it did for me! I wasn’t always good at integrating healthy choices into my life. From a very early age, I was overweight. At ten years old I attended my first diet camp, “fat camp” as it was negatively referred to. I spent the following three summers at camp, losing weight and learning how to make healthy decisions. It wasn’t until my last summer that something clicked. Of course, losing weight felt good, but I fell in love with the whole process. The combination of clean eating and exercise made me feel alive. I became empowered with the knowledge that I could change my own life.

As an adult, my passion for the healthy body/healthy mind connection never waned. But then 15 years ago, when my son Zack was experiencing learning issues, my appreciation for what diet can do for a mind and body grew even further. Motherhood and the act of nourishing my children further fueled my passion for clean, safe and healthy eating. I began to research all the negative effects that processed foods, GMOs, gluten, and sugar have on our bodies. Together with a functional medicine doctor, I changed Zack’s diet and began to see significant results in his attitude and productivity at school.

My enthusiasm and belief in the healing qualities of a wholesome diet have translated into my passion for teaching and sharing what I know with others. I enrolled in the Institute for the Psychology of Eating to further my education on the emotional connection to food in the hopes to help others like me transform their lives. Together we can help you to reap the amazing rewards of a brighter, more vibrant future! Here’s to you and your health!
