Check your vaccine status. Are you missing any? My patients are all up-to-date if it was covered. Or told to check on coverage if >50yo for Shingrix and PCV 21 (new Pneumonia vaccine). Check on if you have anything due. Get it soon.

Brand new guideline recommendation this year: Pneumonia vaccine Is now covered for ages 50+. If your insurance does cover PCV 21, you can get that at your local pharmacy that is in network.

If you are over 75 years old and you have not yet gotten your RSV vaccine, I would do that sooner rather than later.

If you are > 50 years old and have not yet gotten your shingles vaccine (Shingrix), I would get that sooner, not later. Two vaccines, 2 to 6 months apart. It can be very memorable for some due to fevers, chills etc.

Please realize what a big deal this is that our public health, that our own CDC, have been compromised and are at risk. There has been an assault on public health which leaves us all so vulnerable. There has been amplification of the noise and problematic, false rhetoric that vaccines are harmful when it is an indisputable, scientific fact that they save lives.

When the people leading us in public health are not principled and knowledgeable, we will all suffer. This is alarming. We need to speak up and let our representatives know. This is not ok.

There will be no COVID vaccines available until the new one comes out later in September after that.
