things I wish I heard more in grad school, at my internship, in community spaces, etc. bc they are true and they matter and they are unconditional 💗and they kindly challenge performative, perfectionist ideology that squishes our soul.

Pictured: shelter from the storm

Currently: rumbling with the discernment of challenges that ripen v. impede and how to be refined by the former and respond to the latter.

Exploring: that we each have a unique soul blueprint, so to speak, imbued with gifts, intelligence, and genuine desires that are an extension of the mystery/spirit/source, and the actualization of these things has value for both the individual and the collective. And, the perpetual becoming of this inner genius (Michael Meade’s terminology) is one of continual birth and death, widening of edges, deepening of heart that mirrors the underworld journey of Persephone. And, we were never meant to engage in this journey alone.

Weaving: yoga (specifically meditation and mudra), somatic integration, ayurveda, mythopoetics, clinical practicality (1 more year of grad school), beauty, nature, and sharing as an antidote.

Sigh, almost 10 years ago I responded to a calling/appetite to shift my entire life and trajectory in the name of depth and meaning, which evolved to encircle what does it mean to genuinely experience a holistic sense of well-being, which unfolded into a quest for authenticity, empowerment, community, and creativity that is too often stifled by contemporary culture and oppressive systems.

May we have the patience, discernment, compassion, vulnerability, and support to see the inner calling through to its fruiting, for the benefit of all ✨

⭐️community connection tomorrow @ 10:30am~ a blend of yoga, somatics, mindfulness, meditation, and optional sharing to remember youre not alone and always enough⭐️

Life’s been a bit of a storm lately and I haven’t been able to do a lot of marketing but I want to leave this here for anyone who might find benefit in a couple of opportunities to settle, connect, and remember 💗

one of my favorite experiences from traveling in southern switzerland along the Italian boarder last summer was the small churches, often empty, with a resounding silence, and a place of offering.

i contribute the visceral, bone settling silence to a long history of genuine ritual- not dogmatic, institutionalized religion but authentic, sacred practice.

lately, I’ve been thinking about and feeling into the value of devotion- devotion to something wise, vast, omniscient across time and place, loving; something genuine, authentic, real; like foundational.

it’s landed me at the door of my heart and pathways that bring us back to the heart- the heart of ourselves, the bedrock of interconnectedness, the foundational presence of something mysterious, infinite, and divine.

and I am reminded that this is where ritual steps in.

ritual comes from the word rite as in religious rites or rites of passage. the term rite hails from the proto-indo-european root rē, meaning to reason or fit together.

this makes me wonder- is ritual the practice and embodiment of how we fit or mend ourselves back together, within ourselves, with each other, with the other than human world; how we deepen in meaning and reason when it has been cut off at the root. Is this what thomas moore meant when he said “genuine ritual has the power to maintain the world’s holiness.”

for the love of ritual, empowerment, liberation, and truth, i opened two more spots for thursdays rhythm & ritual class [co facilitated with writer & intuitive ] in honor of lughnasadh and deepening in relationship with the rhythms of nature to get back to the heart of things~ link in bio for class calendar. 💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡
