Mama, you don’t have to do it all. And you shouldn’t.
Maybe your partner fumbles bedtime. Maybe the kid cries more when it’s not you.
But stepping in every time doesn’t save the moment—it slowly builds resentment.
Because rescuing doesn’t empower. It reinforces helplessness—for them and for you.
And while you’re overfunctioning, they’re being under-invited.
You’re exhausted. You’re overloaded. And your relationship quietly suffers.

I used to prep meals for the entire weekend when I went out of town—like I was heading off to war. 😝 And without fail, Dad would just order pizza and take them to Chick-fil-A anyway.
Guess what? Everyone survived. And I came home to kids who were still alive and a partner who’d figured it out in his own way.
It was messy, but it was his. And it mattered.

Let them figure it out. Let it be imperfect. Let them grow into their role.
That’s not neglect. That’s trust.
That’s partnership.
That’s how you protect your connection long-term—by not carrying more than you have to today.
