Office Hours: Tues/Wed/Thurs I received my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trevecca Nazarene University and I am in the process of becoming fully licensed as an LMFT in the state of Tennessee. I see adults, couples, teens and families at my counseling office in Franklin. My desire to engage in this kind of healing work has always existed but it became my central focus after divorce eight years ago. My healing journey after this unexpected loss ignited a passion for mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual wellness. I knew I wanted to help others experiencing trauma, pain, and grief. While developing national support groups for single parents (www.soloparent.org), I returned to school to fulfill a new life calling as a counselor. My therapeutic approach is attachment-based and integrative, helping clients connect thoughts, feelings, and beliefs to find healing as they explore their stories, write new narratives, and pursue healthier relationships. Part of my journey has been as a single parent navigating the complexity of raising a child with autism. My life is centered on relationships because I believe authentic healthy connections are integral to a life of meaning and purpose. Welcome to A Fuller Life Therapy! I’m glad you’re here. Amber

Mindset matters! We must pay attention to what we tell ourselves. Lead your mind toward health, not harm. Tell your brain and body a new and better truth.

Yes. These perpetual issues can be handled with love, connectedness, and kindness even when unsolvable.

According to research by foremost relationship therapists and researchers, Drs. John and Julie Gottman, 69% of relational conflict is perpetual, not solvable. That means the conflict is rooted in ongoing differences between partners (e.g., personality, preferences).

Some people find this statistic to be disheartening or alarming. I actually find it to be comforting. It means that no matter who you’re in partnership with, there will likely be conflict. It’s not the presence of conflict that’s necessarily a problem. It’s whether the particular perpetual conflict you deal with is something you can manage and negotiate long-term.

Based on this research, the goal is not to solve all conflict. The goal is to better navigate conflict with respect and kindness.

If you know or love someone on the autism spectrum, this heartwarming little book is a delight. (We no longer use the term “Asperger Syndrome” professionally, but the content is spot on and presented with grace and charm.) And I happen to love cats. ♥️ And those who are neurodivergent!

Fitness is such an important component of mental health!

Today I had my initial training assessment (virtually!) with Deb Solberg of Uplift Fitness Online (https://upliftfitnessonline.com). Highly recommend! So impressed with her knowledge and expertise while making me feel comfortable and ready to take the next step!

It’s a privilege to be able to move and train our bodies for greater overall health and strength.
