This is so helpful and so kind!

Let’s face it… We all get stuck sometimes. And sometimes in the stuck moments we’re not really sure what to do or even what to ask ourselves.

So when in doubt, be gentle with yourself…

In case you were wondering, what shame looks like in dogs….

she heard me come in from outside and already had put herself in timeout after she finished off my breakfast!

But a quick and hopeful distinction between guilt and shame is guilt= I’ve done something bad vs shame=I AM bad.

Well not entirely sure what I was thinking when I signed up for an international trauma congress in Barcelona! But grateful for this cool little device that translates these sessions!

Sometimes things don’t always turn out as we’d hoped or thought when we take risks. There have been numerous frustrations with attending but I’ve made some new friends from Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, and Argentina! And in spite of some of the frustrations I also got to hear Gabor Mate speak twice and now I’m purchasing all his books!

I’m curious if anybody else out there struggled to ask for or receive help?

I came home from being out of town with a cold. And i cancelled plans I had for this evening to try to take care of myself (and also not share germs).

My friend texted and asked if she could bring me dinner. At first I said no. “I got it…I’m fine. I’m going to the grocery and will make a pot of soup when I get home…”

She asked again if she could bring something for me…

This time I accepted and received her kind gesture.

I’m just wondering what makes it so hard for us to receive the love and care from others?

And I’m so grateful I chose to receive. Now I have something soup to warm up!

Healing isn’t about returning to the past; it’s about honoring the woman you’re becoming. You’ve walked through storms and have grown stronger. Your pace is enough, and your journey is valid.

In therapy it’s normal to…

1. Struggle to open up
2. Not know what to say at times
3. Disagree with your therapist
4. Talk lots or not at all
5. Cry
6. Feel tired after sessions
7. Feel nervous before sessions
8. Find some lessons more challenging than others

…Which is all okay!!

My mom says boundaries are important. She was saying, well, yelling about my not having boundaries…all because I jumped up on the table and ate the last two croissants! She said I had to learn where I end and she begins but how does that apply to food??

This is a powerful reminder that our current struggles and challenges do not define us. We can rise above temporary setbacks.  Simple but not easy.

In moments of difficulty, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but remember each challenge is an opportunity for growth. Each obstacle you overcome leads to greater strength and builds resilience. You are capable of amazing things, and this moment is just one part of your incredible journey.

Today, I had the opportunity to engage in equine therapy with my friend and colleague, Michelle Conkle at her beautiful and peaceful Fox Grove Farm. I had the chance to connect more deeply with both the horses and my colleagues.

I love the reminder that the horses are ONLY able to be in the here and now. Focusing on the past is depression and focusing on the future is anxiety. Horses don’t have that ability. What a gift to be reminded of the importance of being in the present moment.

One horse, in particular, took a special liking to me and surprised me with a kiss! 💋

What does it do for your soul to be in nature?

I’ve just downloaded the book, NATURE FIX, (currently free for Audible members BTW) and am looking forward to learning more.

And this is one of my favorite places to bask in nature but in full transparency, I like to soak up nature best on a porch with a fan and a good cup of coffee…oh and a good friend!

“Nature is but an image or imitation of wisdom, the last thing of
the soul; nature being a thing which doth only do, but not know.”
