Hello and welcome,
I’m Linda Plush, and I’m honored to serve as the Executive Director of the Space Nursing Society.
For many, space exploration is about rockets, technology, and distant worlds. For those of us in this field, it is also about something deeply human, health, care, and the ability to support life wherever it may go.
The Space Nursing Society was created to bring together healthcare professionals, researchers, and innovators who are passionate about advancing medicine beyond Earth. As human spaceflight evolves, from low Earth orbit to long-duration missions and, eventually, deep space travel, the need for skilled, forward-thinking medical professionals becomes increasingly essential.
Space nursing is not simply a concept of the future, it is already shaping how we:
• Deliver care in remote and extreme environments
• Use telemedicine and advanced monitoring technologies
• Understand the human body under conditions never before experienced
• Translate space-based research into real-world healthcare improvements here on Earth
Through SNS, our mission is to educate, connect, and inspire those who are curious about this emerging field. Whether you are a nurse, student, medical professional, or simply fascinated by the intersection of healthcare and space exploration, you are in the right place.
This community is a space for learning, collaboration, and meaningful conversation about where healthcare is headed and how we can be part of that journey.
I invite you to follow along, engage with our content, and share your thoughts. The future of healthcare is expanding, and together, we can help shape it.
Warm regards,
Linda Plush, MSN, CNS/FNP, FRSH
