Holiday season = twinkling lights, big feasts… and surprisingly documentable patient encounters.

MEDHOST’s latest blog highlights 12 ICD-10 codes inspired by holiday-time mishaps — from falls on ice and decorating-related injuries to heartburn after that third helping of pie. These codes are not just fun curiosities — they reflect real conditions clinicians see and document every year.

Whether you’re a coder, clinician, or health IT pro, it’s a festive reminder that detailed documentation still matters — even when care gets a little seasonal.

What if the fastest way to reduce clinician turnover isn’t hiring — but fixing the EHR?

For many clinicians, daily frustration with inefficient workflows and documentation is pushing them toward the door. The good news? Organizations that invest in improving the EHR experience are seeing real impact on retention.

The EHR is no longer just a system of record — it’s a workforce experience.

👉 Read why this matters now:

As hospitals face mounting financial and workforce pressures, improvements to the EHR experience represent one of the most direct and effective ways to reduce turnover.

🚨 Telehealth is coming into sharper focus for 2026.

The new 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule final rule from CMS brings permanent updates that could expand telehealth’s reach across hospitals, clinics, and rural providers: increased facility-site fees, virtual direct-supervision approved, and the removal of follow-up-visit frequency caps.

If your organization provides or depends on virtual care—especially in underserved or rural areas—this is a critical moment to revisit your telehealth strategy, billing workflows, and compliance readiness.

Our team spent the morning volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank on November 13, 2025, and it was a great experience all around. This was our third year partnering with Second Harvest, and it’s something we look forward to every year.

The Cold Sort shift lived up to its name, but our group powered through. Eleven team members helped sort 14,000 pounds of food, which will provide roughly 3,000 meals for families in our community. We also helped keep day-to-day operations moving so Second Harvest can continue the important work they do.

More than anything, the day brought a sense of teamwork and purpose. It felt good to step away from our desks and do something that makes a real difference.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered. Your time and effort matter, and so do the people we were able to help.

That’s a wrap on OHA Connect 2025!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the MEDHOST booth to talk about strengthening clinical and financial performance across Oklahoma hospitals.

On National Rural Health Day, we recognize the providers who deliver essential care to more than 60 million Americans in remote and underserved communities.

Rural healthcare teams go the distance every day. More than a quarter of rural residents travel over 30 miles for basic care, and providers continue to bridge those gaps despite limited resources, staffing challenges, and growing operational demands.

With more than 180 rural hospitals closing since 2005, the dedication of those still serving their communities matters now more than ever.

At MEDHOST, we are proud to support rural hospitals with solutions that simplify workflows, strengthen clinical operations, and help keep care accessible where it is needed most.

To every rural caregiver and facility: thank you for the work you do today and every day.

The holiday season brings a predictable spike in Emergency Department volume — and for many hospitals, that means added pressure on teams already stretched thin.

In our latest blog, we break down three ways EDs can stay efficient during the holiday rush, including better workflow visibility, stronger communication, and technology that helps reduce bottlenecks.

Thoughtful preparation now can make all the difference when patient volume peaks.

Last week, our Sales and Marketing teams gathered in Franklin, TN to reflect on our 2025 accomplishments, celebrate the progress we’ve made, and collaborate on our priorities for 2026. Our Technical Account Management team joined remotely, contributing to thoughtful discussions throughout the week. Amid all the planning and conversations, one experience carried deeper meaning—supporting The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program in the Franklin community.

Through generous contributions from the Sales, Marketing, and Technical Account Management teams, we were able to sponsor eight local children. On November 11, fifteen team members volunteered to shop on behalf of the full group, choosing gifts from each child’s wish list and keeping the spirit of the program at the center of the experience.

This initiative wasn’t about the activity itself, but about reflecting on the impact we can make when we come together with a shared purpose. It was a reminder of the importance of supporting our neighbors and staying connected to the communities where we live and work.

We’re grateful to everyone who contributed—both in person and remotely—and to The Salvation Army for the meaningful work they lead year-round.

On Tuesday, November 4, members from our team partnered up with MEDTEAM to volunteer at GraceWorks Ministries in Franklin, TN.

Our team rolled up their sleeves to support GraceWorks’ mission by:

🛋️ Organizing and moving furniture in donation spaces

🧣 Tagging clothing and accessories for the thrift store

📦 Assembling food boxes for local families

Founded in 1995, GraceWorks Ministries exists to serve neighbors in need through food, clothing, housing assistance, and financial aid. Their mission is simple yet powerful:

“Neighbor serving Neighbor, by the power of God’s grace.”

We are proud to support an organization that served over 13,500 individuals and families last year—and continues to make a meaningful difference in Williamson County.

👏 Thank you to our 20 volunteers for showing what compassion in action looks like.

What if improving health outcomes started with one invitation?

Patients are 25% more likely to use a portal when offered access, and another 20% when their provider encourages it. Those numbers tell a simple story: a personal nudge works.

Let’s make patient engagement easier by offering access every time and simplifying the experience for all.
