Most adults stop doing this one thing for their health… and it matters more than they realize. 👀

Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, many of us stop going to the doctor regularly. Life gets busy, we feel mostly fine, and healthcare becomes something we only think about when something is wrong.

But annual exams are one of the most powerful tools for prevention and long-term health.

In this week’s episode of the Fiat Health Podcast, Caroline and Dr. Ed talk about why annual exams matter, how integrative medicine approaches prevention differently, and how Fiat’s three levels of exams help you better understand your health.

Postpartum recovery is not a 6-week event.
It’s a physiological process that unfolds over months and even through the first year after having a baby.

In the latest episode of the Fiat Health Podcast, we break down what’s actually happening in a woman’s body after birth, and why so many moms feel off after that 6 week mark.

Here’s what’s really going on postpartum:

• Hormones shift dramatically, impacting mood, sleep, and energy
• Tissue healing and pelvic recovery take longer than most realize
• Protein needs increase to support healing and milk production
• Nutrient depletion can play a role in fatigue and mood changes
• Blanket recommendations (like automatic vitamin D supplementation) may overlook deeper maternal nutrient considerations

Postpartum care should be proactive, individualized, and rooted in physiology…not rushed checkboxes or timelines.

If you’re a mom, provider, or simply someone who supports postpartum women, this conversation is worth your time. And if you’re not seeing a provider who takes a holistic approach to your postpartum recovery…we have openings for new women’s health patients and would love to support you!
