Each Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We are forever grateful for their courage and service to our country.

One of our Memorial Day traditions is to place the name of every veteran we have had the honor of caring for since 2017 on display in front of our funeral home throughout Memorial Day week. It is our way of honoring their lives, their service, and the families who entrusted us with their care.

We are deeply grateful for each of these heroes and the sacrifices they made for our nation.

Some of the most meaningful things we can give another person cost nothing at all.

A kind word. A hug. A simple “I love you.”

Mr. Rogers believed kindness should always come first, and the message behind “1-4-3” continues to remind us how important it is to care for one another, especially during life’s hardest moments.

It’s also a reminder that friendship, compassion, and community matter. Across Pennsylvania, funeral directors from all different funeral homes and communities often share a unique bond and friendship built on serving families with care, kindness, and support when it matters most.
