How the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Applies to Addiction and Recovery Self Paced Training-free & virtual
An introduction to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and how it applies to addiction and recovery in the areas of: employment, state and local government services, programs and activities, and private businesses and not-profits.
At the end of the course, you will be able to: understand the ADA’s definition of disability and how it applies to addiction and recovery; distinguish how the ADA applies to people with addiction to alcohol, and those in recovery from opioids and other drugs; and understand civil rights protections for people utilizing medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), and barriers to treatment and recovery.
The course is approximately 3 hours including the exam and the survey. This course has been approved for 3 credits from the National Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC), the ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program (ACTCP), the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), and the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
