Heather’s weight loss success story:
“I’ve lost weight recently, and while I’m feeling really good, I don’t ever want it to look like it was easy or that everything just “clicked” for me. That hasn’t been my story.
I started at the Sweat Shop in 2020 during a time when I was really struggling mentally. At first, my goal wasn’t weight loss—it was taking care of my mental health. The physical changes followed: I was losing weight, eating better, and feeling stronger.
But then I hit a wall.
I kept showing up. I kept working out. I kept trying to make better choices—and somehow, I started gaining weight. It was frustrating, confusing, and honestly discouraging. Still, I stayed consistent for the next couple of years, even when the results weren’t there.
During that time, I also started dealing with a lot of physical pain—joint issues, sciatic pain, constant shoulder and neck discomfort. What many people didn’t know is that I was also dealing with the strain of having a DDD chest, which made working out increasingly difficult and painful.
In fall 2024, I made the decision to have a breast reduction. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I finally felt relief, and I was able to move my body again without constant pain.
But even then… the weight still didn’t come off.
I’ve also been battling endometriosis for years—flare-ups, inflammation, bloating, and the hormonal challenges that come with it. It’s something that has made my journey even more complicated, especially when it comes to losing weight.
Eventually, I learned about GLP-1 medications and decided to talk with my doctor. I was hesitant at first—I honestly thought it was “cheating.” But my perspective has completely changed.
I’ve been on Zepbound for almost a year now, and for me, it’s been about so much more than weight loss. It’s helped reduce inflammation and significantly decreased my endo flare-ups. More importantly, it’s helped me reset my mindset—teaching me the difference between true hunger and emotional eating, and helping me build healthier, more sustainable habits.
This hasn’t replaced hard work. I still show up. I still prioritize movement. I still focus on nutrition.
If anything, it’s made me more intentional—because when you eat less, what you eat really matters.
I’ve also been tracking my progress, and I’m proud to say I’ve maintained my muscle while losing body fat—something I’ve worked incredibly hard for.
I want to say this clearly: using a GLP-1 is not cheating if you’re using it as a tool—not an escape.
For me, it’s been a way to get back on track, not a shortcut around the work.
As I start nearing the end of this chapter, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous—especially about my hormones and potential flare-ups returning. But I also feel confident. I’ve built habits, discipline, and a mindset that I didn’t have before.
I’m sharing all of this because you never really know what someone else’s journey looks like behind the scenes. And if you’re in a season where things feel hard or unfair—keep going. Your path is your own, and it’s valid every step of the way.”
