๐ŸŒฟGame night yesterday. I made vegan tuna salad with Tuno, a plant-based substitute๐ŸŸ by . Everyone liked it!

My simple Tuno salad
1 can Tuno
1 stalk celery, diced ๐ŸŒฑ
2 spears dill pickle, sliced๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿฅ’
dairy-free ranch dressing to taste. Start with 1/4 cup

It's not veggie heavy. To increase the plant-food toward your 30 a week, experiment. Add raisins or grapes, halved. Try sunflower seeds or h**p hearts. likes onions in hers. Olives?๐Ÿซ’ Cilantro?

Introduce your friends to how good plant-based can be.

๐ŸŒฟGMO stands for genetically modified organism. A GMO plant or animal's genetic makeup has been modified in a laboratory. GMOs are usually altered to grow quicker for higher yields and thus more profit for the grower. These faster-growing organisms, be they plant or animal๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ–, are less tasty and less good for us than their traditionally raised counterparts.

Last night Mark and I ate at Fresh to Morrow for community night, meaning leftovers, but eaten in good company๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿด. My farmer and his wife operate the restaurant on weekends. All the food is organic--by definition though not by certification; he applies nothing to his crops. Certified organic growers are permitted certain applications.

Have you found a local farmer yet? The season is almost here.

I didn't take a picture of my salad and butternut squash soup at the cafe๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿฅฃ. This chocolate shake from Monday I make often in hot weather.

They're water-heavy, and the water crowds out the good stuff. Before the 1950s most people weren't overweight. We overeat now NOT because food tastes better today but because we're seeking more nutrients. Our food is lacking.๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ“

This toor dal popped with the good stuff. One serving was completely satisfying. Yellow lentils bought at Dayton, Ohio's -- woopwoopโ— -- prepared locally in Piqua. The recipe is from Vegan Intermittent Fasting by .petrabracht and Mira Flatt
