A diagnostic imaging is going to tell you if you have a disease that is diagnosable. And if you didn’t already know, when it comes to breasts, only a biopsy can give you a diagnosis.

👉🏼Mottling on a breast thermography image, or as I like to call them “stress polka dots” refers to a speckled, uneven, or blotchy distribution of heat (red/white colors) rather than a uniform temperature.

This pattern generally indicates increased metabolic activity, inflammation, or vascular changes within the breast tissue.

❇️Common Causes and Interpretations❇️

✔️Hormone Imbalance & Estrogen Dominance: Mottling is frequently associated with hormonal dysfunction, particularly high estrogen levels or “estrogen dominance,” which can cause areas of hyperthermia (increased heat).

✔️Fibrocystic Changes: Extreme mottling patterns throughout the breast and surrounding fat tissue are often indicative of fibrocystic breast disease.

✔️Inflammation/Lymphatic Congestion: Symmetrical low-grade inflammation or poor lymph flow can produce mottled patterns.

✔️Lifestyle Factors: Chronic stress, allergies, and illness can affect the immune/lymphatic system and manifest as mottling.

✔️Vascular Activity: The mottled spots may represent increased blood flow to areas of dense, metabolically active tissue.

These are warning signals from your body, that it time for you to take extra care of your health before it progresses to a more severe pattern.
