We are officially one year old! This time last year we posted the invitation to our first Whosoever meeting. I am so humbled by how far God has brought us.
I've learned so much through this ministry this year. So I want to take a moment to reintroduce Whosoever and share the heart of this ministry.
Our name comes directly from the words of Jesus in John 12:46 (KJV):
“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.”
Jesus came for whosoever. Before we believe. Before we become. His grace invites us to belong first.
His invitation was not limited by our past or our brokenness. It was, and still is, open to whosoever.
In recovery terms, Whosoever functions as a peer support group. Biblically, this is simply called community. It looks like walking together, sharing life, and pointing one another back to Christ.
Acts 2:42
Healing was never meant to happen in isolation. Scripture shows us that community does more than comfort, it carries.
We see this clearly when friends brought a paralyzed man to Jesus and refused to let obstacles stop them.
Mark 2:4–5
At Whosoever, this is what Christ-centered community looks like. When someone is too weak to get to Jesus on their own, we don’t leave them stuck outside. We help carry them. Sometimes that means lifting a mat. Sometimes it means tearing off a roof. Always, it means doing whatever it takes, short of sin, to bring one another to Jesus and trusting Him to do what only He can do.
We are not here to fix one another. We are here to walk together, encourage one another, pray together, and bear one another’s burdens.
Galatians 6:2
That is why Whosoever is unapologetically Christ-centered. Jesus is not an addition to recovery here. He is the Light that overcomes everything that keeps us stuck in darkness.
We use our own biblical 12-step framework, rooted in the belief that grace meets us where we are then empowers us to take each next step toward healing, freedom, and transformation. We don’t have to clean ourselves up before we come to Jesus. When we come to Him open, honest, and willing, He does the work within us.
At Whosoever, we believe faith and recovery are built on this simple foundation:
TRUTH – Christ Alone
Learning that the darkness we face points to our need for Jesus. And how His grace is the Light that meets us first.
CHOICE – Know Him
Learning who Jesus is and who He says we are in Him. And how to build a lasting relationship with Him.
ACTION – Make Him Known
Learning how to surrender to Jesus daily, even if yesterday was messy. And how we reach others through our surrender.
All in all, this ministry exists because His grace still calls people out of darkness and into His light.
You belong here, just as you are, because you are Whosoever.
