With the forecast extreme low temps for this weekend we want to remind everyone to have your trucks plugged in and trailers plowed out. In temps like that, if your horse needs emergency treatment, the only way may be to haul in where water isn't freezing within minutes. This happened late tuesday night when Dr Marion had to tube a colic at 10 degrees. The "warm" water was freezing up in the stomach tube, as he was treating the horse!

Confused about Proposition 129? Here is some info on professional veterinary organizations opposed to it including Colorado Veterinary Medical Association and a link to some info why it's a dangerous idea for your animals health. This proposition is funded by special interest groups, including a large multi national corporation, who wants cheap labor for its chain of Veterinary clinics.

The AVMA, in partnership with the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, has voiced strong opposition to the new midlevel practitioner called a “Veterinary Professional Associate (VPA)” proposed in Colorado. Multiple other veterinary organizations have voiced their opposition to a VPA and the list continues to grow.
