Dr. Michael R. Warner is a board certified dermatologist who specializes in both cosmetic dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery. A native of Frederick, Dr. Warner received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Maryland. He pursued a four-year residency in dermatology at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, and is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Warner was chosen from competitors worldwide to complete a two year fellowship in dermasurgery. In 2001, Dr. Warner returned to Frederick and founded the Skin Surgery Center. When Dr. To joined the practice in 2004, they established the Cosmetic and Skin Surgery Center. What is Dermasurgery? Dermatology has experienced a boom of technology over the last 20 years. The advent of new lasers, cosmetic products and procedures led to the creation of a separate subspecialty called Dermasurgery. This subspecialty includes aspects of cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery, laser dermatology and more. To obtain the highest level of expertise within dermatology, selected dermatologists undertake one or two years of fellowship training in addition to the traditional four year residency. Wyatt C. To, MD
Dr. Wyatt C. To is a facial plastic surgeon specializing in rejuvenation of the aging face, rhinoplasty and facial reconstruction. He is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology (ABO). Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Dr. To attended the University of Michigan for college and medical school. He completed a six year residency in Head and Neck surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, before obtaining a prestigious American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) fellowship with Dr. Calvin M. Johnson, Jr., one of the world’s premier facial plastic surgeons. Following his fellowship, Dr. To served as the facial plastic surgeon at the nationally renowned Cleveland Clinic Florida. In 2004, Dr. To moved to Frederick to join Dr. Michael Warner forming the Cosmetic and Skin Surgery Center. Dr. To has lectured extensively at national meetings and published numerous scientific articles and book chapters. He has recently co-authored the full length textbook Open Structure Rhinoplasty: A Case Study Approach. Jessie Mallalieu, PA-C, MS

☀️ The hot summer rays are almost here—let’s get sun-ready with some must-have sunscreen!
ISDIN’s daily mineral sunscreens come in both tinted and non-tinted options. Not only do they provide powerful broad-spectrum SPF 50+ protection, but they also help repair previous sun damage and protect against actinic damage caused by UV exposure.
One of our favorite things about these sunscreens? Their lightweight, fast-absorbing formula works perfectly under makeup—or on its own as your final step before stepping out the door.
Both are perfect for daily, year-round protection!
You can pick up your ISDIN sunscreen right here at the office—or if you’re short on time, we’re happy to ship it directly to you.
🔬 What is MOHS Surgery? (pronounced “Moes”)
It’s a highly specialized procedure used to treat certain types of skin cancer—and we’re proud to offer it right here at The Cosmetic and Skin Surgery Center!
🩺Dr. Warner, our MOHS surgeon, carefully removes the visible cancer plus a thin layer of surrounding tissue. While you relax, that tissue is examined in our lab to check for remaining cancer cells. If any are found, the process is repeated until no cancer remains.
✂️ Once all the cancer is cleared, Dr. To, our expert facial plastic surgeon, steps in to perform a precise, skillful closure for the best cosmetic result.
💡 Fun fact: MOHS is named after the surgeon who developed this life-saving technique!
MOHS is done as an outpatient procedure with local anesthetic, so you’re comfortable and cared for every step of the way.
Our amazing PAs, Emily and Jasmine, provide meticulous and thorough skin cancer screenings to help keep your skin healthy and protected.
Whether you have one spot of concern or several, they’ve got you covered with expert care and compassionate attention.
If a spot appears concerning during your exam, a same-day biopsy can be performed to ensure a prompt diagnosis. From there, you’ll receive a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.
Your skin health is our priority—schedule your screening today for peace of mind and proactive care.
🧴☀️ What is Basal Cell Carcinoma?
It’s the most common type of skin cancer—and it’s more common than you think.
Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) often appears as a pearly bump, pink patch, or sore that doesn’t heal. It’s caused by long-term sun exposure and typically shows up on sun-exposed areas like the face, ears, neck, and arms.
While BCC grows slowly and rarely spreads, early detection is key to prevent deeper skin damage.
👀 See something new or changing on your skin?
Don’t wait—schedule a skin check today with our expert providers.
Our office will be CLOSED today, January 6th, 2025. We will be reaching out tomorrow to reschedule your appointments as soon as possible! Stay safe! ☃️❄️
