NCI at Frederick has several locations across Frederick, Maryland. The
most notable is the NCI campus, situated on 68 acres of government
property within the perimeter of Fort Detrick, 50 miles north of
Washington D.C. NCI at Frederick is a national resource for NCI, other institutes and centers
of the National Institutes of Health, and other government agencies. We work with our collaborators and partners to develop faster and less
expensive ways of turning laboratory discoveries into new diagnostic
tests and treatments for cancer and AIDS. NCI at Frederick is made up of
a diverse workforce of nearly 2,500 employees, with a range of educational
backgrounds. Two major scientific and research operations occupy NCI at
Frederick:
• NCI Center for Cancer Research (CCR), and
• Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research (FNLCR)
