"Burnout is more than just feeling tired. It’s a symptom of deeper mental health struggles and a sign that someone is overwhelmed and unable to cope with stress. In the workplace, this can look like a lack of motivation, trouble concentrating, disengagement, and a freeze in executive functioning, A.K.A. the inability to follow through on important tasks."

August is National Make-A-Will Month, when working on your will, consider legacy giving.

Including MHA in your estate plans – such as your will or trust, or making MHA a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy - can be a simple way to make a significant impact on our community’s mental wellness for many years to come. Contact your attorney or tax advisor to see if these contributions are right for you.

Help us welcome Matthew Goodwin to MHA's Board of Directors.

Matthew is the Owner of Wise Mind Behavioral Health in Frederick, MD. He has been a Frederick local since moving to the area at age 10, his parents owning and operating the downtown retail shop Flights of Fancy. Matthew has spent much of his adult life working in mental health, starting at the Sheppard Pratt Health System before he attended Loyola University to obtain his M.S. in Counseling Psychology. Once he obtained his Professional Counselor license, Matthew moved back to his hometown of Frederick to open his practice, Wise Mind Behavioral Health. Matthew has always been a firm believer in giving back to the Frederick and Mental Health communities as well as raising awareness for groups doing excellent work in the space.

Matthew’s goals are to help make mental health services available to as many people as possible and to increase willingness to seek help in communities that might otherwise still have stigma.

Thank you, Matthew, for your commitment to MHA!
