Stauffer Funeral Homes P.A.

Stauffer Funeral Homes P.A. Family-Owned and Operated Funeral Home and Crematory in Frederick and Carroll Counties in Maryland.

We know that a funeral home with deep roots in the community, and relationships with local family and friends, can best help those who are grieving. That is why we are still family owned and operated, local, and continue to be dedicated to the community. Today, with the addition of my son, George Stauffer II and his wife Courtney, whom are both licensed funeral directors, we carry our tradition of service into our second generation. This assures that families who trust us with their funeral arrangements will continue to receive flawless service and a response to their every need. Our family was here to serve your family in the past, and we continue to be here for you in the present and into the future.

On Mondays, we’re turning our social channels over to our staff so you can get to know the amazing people who make up our team.

Meet the Staff Monday with Troy Barrick:

“I’ve been with Stauffer Funeral Homes since October 2023, serving as Vice President of Operations. My role includes daily oversight, compliance, and supporting our staff—but one of the most meaningful parts of my job is working directly with families during visitations and funerals.

After retiring from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office following 28 years of service, I brought the same values with me to Stauffer Funeral Homes: compassion, dignity, respect, and treating every family the way I would want my own to be treated.

Working here is especially meaningful to me because Stauffer is family. The business was started by my Uncle Doug in 1972, my mom retired from here, and today I get to work alongside my cousin George and his wife Courtney—along with an incredible team I’m grateful for every day.

Outside of work, I enjoy time with my wife Jennifer, my sons Brady and Tyler, and our two German Shorthaired Pointers Huk and Jojo. Fishing is my favorite hobby—especially light-tackle inshore fishing on the Chesapeake Bay and in North Carolina. I’m also proud to volunteer with the YMCA’s Alvin G. Quinn Sports Hall of Fame.

🎣 Dream trip: A week-long fishing trip to Costa Rica, chasing fish I’ve never caught—or maybe never even heard of.

⚾ Fun fact: Before law enforcement, I played college baseball at North Carolina Wesleyan, was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals, and spent several years in the minor leagues—yes, I even have a few baseball cards out there!

After a loved one dies, there’s so much to handle. Sending copies of the death certificate to the three major credit bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion—can help protect their identity and give you some peace of mind during a difficult time.

Happy 11th Birthday to our retired Stauffer Comfort Dog, Steeler! Since 2015, he’s brought comfort and kindness to so many across Frederick and Carroll counties. While retirement looks good on him, his gift for comforting others will always shine—it’s just who he is. 🐾💙

Endless thanks to Linda Kinna-Engel and Julie Nichols Condrasky for giving Steeler the loving, joy-filled retirement he deserves.

On Mondays, we're turning our social channels over to our staff so you can get to know the amazing people who make up our team.

Meet the Staff Monday with Wendi Rezash:

"This February marks three years with Stauffer Funeral Homes, though my connection to the Stauffer family goes back much further. Growing up in Walkersville, my family was cared for by Stauffer Funeral Homes over the years—making this role especially meaningful to me.

As President of Operations, I support our staff, coordinate logistics, and work closely with families when questions or challenges arise. No two days are ever the same, and I’m grateful to work for a family-owned business with such a dedicated, compassionate team.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, attending (a lot of!) concerts with my husband, spending time with our blended family and three dogs, and BBQ cooking (Mason-Dixon BBQ Boot Camp graduate!)."

✨ Dream trip: A cross-country RV adventure
🎢 Fun fact: We’re Disney fans—not quite fanatics yet!
