🐾 Lucy the Therapy Dog’s Busy Week! 🐾

Lucy, a therapy dogs with Wags For Hope, had a very full week spreading comfort and smiles across our community. From visiting patients and staff at The Cancer Center at Rosehill, to bringing peace at Remembering Love & Restoring Hope at FCC, to supporting patients and families at Frederick Health Hospital, and finally honoring and comforting those touched by loss at the Overdose Awareness Event with TAC in Thurmont—Lucy was right there with her gentle paws and loving heart. 💜

Lucy truly loves staying busy and giving her time to those who need it most. Whether it’s offering a wagging tail, a soft cuddle, or simply sitting quietly beside someone, Lucy’s presence reminds people that they are not alone.

Therapy dogs like Lucy play an important role in our local community. They bring emotional support, reduce stress, lift spirits, and provide comfort in times of joy and sorrow. Their unconditional love helps heal hearts, ease worries, and connect us all in powerful ways.

Lucy the Therapy Dog had so much fun at the Wine & Art Stroll in Thurmont, MD this past Friday! 🐾🍷🎨 She was joined by her Wags For Hope friends who loved meeting everyone, sharing smiles, and spreading comfort. 💕

We truly love supporting our local communities and being part of such wonderful events—thank you for all the love and wagging tails we received! 🐶💖

💖🐾 Lucy the Therapy Dog was back at the James M. Stockman Cancer Institute today — and she was dressed to impress! Rocking her hot pink dress and matching pink nails, she was all set for a day of spreading love and smiles.

Lucy was paws-itively perfect in the elevator (she’s a pro!) and was over the moon to see some of the same amazing employees she’s met on past visits. She wagged her way through the waiting area, greeting everyone, then headed into the infusion room to give her special kind of comfort and joy. 💕

Lucy absolutely loves all the patients she visits, and her dedication never fails. The best part? Everyone is already counting down the days until she comes back! 🐶✨

🐾 Lucy the Therapy Dog’s Back-to-School Visit! 🐾

Lucy the therapy dog with Wags For Hope had a tail-wagging good time visiting 1st Baptist Church for their Welcome Back to School event! 🎒🐶

She greeted the kids with smiles and handed out her special goodies:

🐾 Lucy Kept Her Paw Promise! 🐾

On Friday, August 8th, I got to join A Day in the Park for a special walk with my new friends — all the way to the Thurmont Regional Library! 📚🐾

Ofc. Ballesteros from the Thurmont Police Department walked with us to keep everyone safe. I love when I get to work with our police friends — together we help kids feel happy, safe, and connected to their community. Plus, I get so many extra ear scratches along the way! 🐶💛

The best part? The kids wanted to hold my leash and help guide me to the library. I had a whole team of junior handlers making sure I stayed on the right path!

It was such a fun morning filled with smiles, giggles, and wagging tails. I can’t wait to see all my new friends again when school starts!

Come see me and my fellow Wags for Hope friends at this fun-filled morning celebrating pet wellness, holistic care, and community connection! 🐶💚

We’ll be at Baker Park (373 Fleming Ave., Frederick, MD) on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM — and guess what? It’s FREE to attend!

There will be local vets, pet businesses, yoga sessions, wellness talks, and plenty of tail wags. Stop by and say hi — I’d love to see you! 🦴🐕

🐾 Lucy the Therapy Dog with Wags For Hope had a heartwarming visit to Frederick Health's James Stockman Cancer Center today! 💕🐶

It was truly wonderful to spread cheer and comfort to the incredible staff, patients, nurses, and doctors who do so much for our community.

And we have exciting news… this will be the first of many more visits! 🎉
Our Wags For Hope Therapy Teams are gearing up to continue supporting the amazing work happening at our local Cancer Center.

We couldn’t resist hopping on the trend — “What would your dog look like as a person?”

So, of course, we had to imagine what Lucy the Therapy Dog would look like as a human… and honestly? She’s just as fabulous!

Bright-eyed, full of joy, and rocking her signature “Follow the Rainbow” style, Lucy as a person is everything we imagined — kind-hearted, full of sunshine, and always ready to bring smiles wherever she goes. Whether she’s comforting someone in need or twirling in a tutu, Lucy’s sparkle shines through in any form.

The Power of a Therapy Dog🐾🐾🐾🐾

Having a partnership with the Thurmont Police Department brings unique opportunities for our Wags For Hope therapy teams to make a difference.

This afternoon, two teens came into the station upset after experiencing bullying. While the amazing officers handled the situation, Team Lucy was there to provide comfort and support. It’s incredible how therapy dogs can change a person’s mood, offering a sense of calm in difficult moments.

As the teens left, we reminded them that they’re always welcome to stop by and visit our official therapy dog anytime they need a little extra comfort.

Remember—Be a Buddy, Not a Bully!
