🚴‍♀️ Promoting Independence & Community Engagement 🚴‍♂️

At ClearView Communities, we are always looking for ways to empower our residents and encourage meaningful involvement in the local community.

We’re excited to share that we’ve added a brand-new adult-sized bicycle (with a bike lock!) for residents to borrow and enjoy as an alternative method of transportation.

This new resource provides:
✅ Increased mobility – Giving residents another way to get around town
✅ Independence – Supporting personal responsibility and autonomy
✅ Wellness – Encouraging outdoor activity and healthy habits

Residents will be able to sign out the bike and take responsibility for its care during their use.

This is just one more step toward fostering connection, independence, and well-being at ClearView Communities!

📚 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸-𝘁𝗼-𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀!

Today marks the first day of school for many K-12 students in our area, and it’s a great reminder that learning truly has no age limit. At ClearView Communities, education is an important part of recovery and personal growth—which is why we’re proud to offer our Supported Education Program for all of our residents.

This program empowers our residents to:
✅ Pursue their educational goals
✅ Build confidence and self-efficacy
✅ Increase their marketability for future employment

The only prerequisite? A desire to learn. Whether it’s working toward a degree, sharpening skills, or exploring a new field, our Community Integration Team partners with each resident to make education accessible and achievable.

We’re grateful for our incredible local education partners— Hood College , Frederick Community College, Mount St. Mary's University , University of Maryland, Baltimore , University of Maryland, and University of Maryland Global Campus— to list just a few, for helping create opportunities that transform lives.

Here’s to a season of growth, curiosity, and success—for students of all ages! 🌟

Cameron brings 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 into every interaction. As House Manager, he has done a phenomenal job leading with care and understanding — especially in providing thoughtful support to our female residents when navigating complex dynamics. His ability to truly listen, empathize, and take action reflects his deep commitment to the well-being of others.

Recently, Cameron went above and beyond during a difficult event to support both residents and staff — stepping in with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to keeping everyone safe. In challenging moments, he didn’t back down, and his presence made a real difference.

Whether he’s helping his team, advocating for residents, or ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly, Cameron consistently goes out of his way to make ClearView Communities a better place for everyone. We are so lucky to have him on our team! 💙

🌿 Walk, Talk & Reflect at Brookside Gardens 🌿

This week, we had the pleasure of co-hosting a Walk and Chat Meet-Up with Shannon Harris, LMSW, MBA for Behavioral Health Professionals at Brookside Gardens, Montgomery Parks,—and what a grounding, inspiring morning it was.

Together, we slowed down and explored powerful metaphors for personal and professional wellness:

🌱 A Fresh Start for Our Rock Garden 🎨

Over the past few weeks, our residents have been busy reimagining a beloved part of our outdoor space—our rock garden!

To help protect the painted rocks from the elements, we recently moved the garden to a new, more sheltered location. Residents took the lead in planning the transition and adding new designs, turning the move into a creative, collaborative experience.

We’re proud to provide opportunities that blend creativity, mindfulness, and community.

𝗔: I love being a part of people’s lives and helping them grow into who they want to be. I really enjoy going to the zoo, roller-skating, and our pins and pancakes outings.

𝗔: I like the sense of community, the people, and the groups. I want to find an apartment, either on my own or with a roommate.

Did you know we do this to help our residents take a step forward toward living independently?

At ClearView Communities, we’re passionate about empowering our residents with the routines, skills, and confidence they need to successfully transition back into their lives after treatment.

One way we do this is by providing daily schedules for those in our care — these schedules reflect their appointments, doctor visits, work obligations, and group sessions. This helps foster structure, reduce overwhelm, and ease their path toward greater independence.

Every step forward brings them closer to the independent future we know they’re capable of.
