Layer Up for Cooler Weather!

As temperatures drop, dressing children in layers helps them stay comfortable and adjust easily throughout the day.

💡 Tips for layering:

Start with a light, breathable base layer

Add a warm middle layer like a sweater or fleece
Finish with a coat or jacket for chilly mornings or evenings
Don’t forget hats, gloves, and scarves for extra warmth

Layering keeps kids cozy, helps prevent overheating, and makes outdoor play safer and more fun!

Each month, our team chooses an organization to support through our Jeans for a Cause fundraiser. Staff can donate $5 to participate-and every dollar goes toward making a difference!

This month, we’re proud to support Frederick County Toys for Tots, part of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, which has been bringing joy to children in need since 1947.

Funds raised will help provide toys, books, and gifts to local children this holiday season. Visit their website to learn more or make an additional donation:

🎁 We’re also collecting new, unwrapped toys at all Ped Center locations through Wednesday, December 4.

Together, we can help make the holidays brighter for children in our community! 💙

SHIP (Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership) continues to provide essential support to hundreds of Frederick County youth facing homelessness, and we’re proud to help again this holiday season.

Our Homeless for the Holidays Hygiene Drive is now underway, and we’ll be collecting new, full-size personal care items at all Ped Center locations throughout December.

Even a small donation can make a big difference in helping local students feel supported, confident, and cared for.
Thank you for joining us in giving back to our community this holiday season! 🎁💙

💉 Why Vaccine Timing Matters 💉

Ever wonder why kids sometimes get several shots at once or why some vaccines are combined? Learn how this strategy keeps your child’s immune system strong and helps them stay healthy, growing, and learning!

The vaccines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) for use in all children do not interfere with each other and, as needed, can be safely given together during a single visit. The immunization schedule is created to ensure they are as effective as possible to protect your child fr...

😴 Teens + Sleep = Academic Success! 📚✨

Did you know most teens need 8–10 hours of sleep each night, but many get far less?

Lack of sleep can affect more than just mood - it impacts focus, memory, and learning, making it harder to concentrate and retain information at school.

✅ Teens who get enough sleep:

Have better attention and problem-solving skills
Are more likely to get higher grades
Handle stress and emotions more effectively

💤 Help your teen build better sleep habits:

Keep a consistent bedtime (even on weekends!)
Limit screens an hour before bed
Encourage relaxing evening routines

A good night’s sleep is one of the best study habits there is! 💪
