Meet our Wound Nurse Jessica RN, BSN, VWCN with 16 years of RN experience and a total of 24 years in the medical field, including service as a medic in the Army. Her passions lie in rehab and wound care, where she finds great satisfaction in helping patients regain independence and witnessing their wounds heal. She works with the VOHRA wound team and is VOHRA wound certified, contributing to Northampton Manor's status as a Center of Excellence in Wound Management.

Northampton Manor hosted a Dash and Dine for our local hospital, the Frederick Health Case Management Team. The food was catered by La Carreta Tacos y Tortas and was a delicious lunch. It was a great afternoon, and Northampton Manor gave the case managers a tour of the facility while sharing the many opportunities available for residents.

February is not only a time for celebrating Valentine’s Day but it’s also American Heart Month, a time when all people can focus on their cardiovascular health and raise their awareness about heart disease.

Taking care of your health has never been more important and thankfully there are many ways you can reduce your risk for developing heart disease. Being physically active, eating healthier foods, getting enough sleep, not smoking, and finding healthy ways to reduce stress can help prevent heart disease.

Mr. K has been playing the piano since he was five years old. He has performed with a jazz band, on two occasions with an orchestra, and one of which was the Georgetown Symphony! He studied piano at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, where he received a scholarship. Today, he enjoys playing the lobby piano to create for visitors, staff, and residents.
