In 2010, W.I.S.H., Women Inspiring, Helping, and Supporting, was established as a networking opportunity for women. Five years later, Melissa Lentz took on the leadership of WISH. While networking remains important, the organization’s main focus has shifted to learning about, supporting, and giving back to other community organizations and nonprofits, as well as supporting one another.

From spearheading events to collect and raise money for school-age children’s boots, to filling bags with food and turkeys for the Frederick Rescue Mission, WISH has stepped into the philanthropic world. Melissa has remained the drum major at the head of the crowd, with strong flag bearers and a band behind her, for ten years.

In October 2025, she was one of the nominees for a Frederick Do-Gooder Award. The awards recognize those who Do Good in our community. DoGood-ers are individuals or advocates who serve their communities and the people in them by giving back in small to significant ways.

What an inspiring and joy-filled morning we had at our WISH morning meeting on Thursday, October 2nd!🌸✨

A huge thank-you to our incredible speakers — sisters Terri Robinson Lemere and Pam Robinson Stultz, co-hosts of the heartwarming TwinSpired podcast! Their conversation reminded us how important it is to stay connected, embrace each season of life, and find laughter and meaning in the everyday moments. Their humor, wisdom, and genuine love for people truly shined through. 💕

We also can’t say enough about Canapés’ beautiful new location — bright, welcoming, and perfect for our gathering! The food and treats were, as always, absolutely delicious. 🍴☕

It’s mornings like these that fill our cups and remind us why the WISH community is so special — women coming together to encourage, support, and inspire one another. ✨ What an absolutely AMAZING day! ✨

We are so grateful for all the incredible women who came together to share, support, and uplift one another at our Women's Wellness Retreat. 💕

With the guidance of our TALENTED Vetted Humans Trainers and the WONDERFUL wisdom of our guest speaker, Grouplady LaTisha Boyd-Potts, we left with our cups full, our hearts connected, and our spirits calm.

A very special thank you to our host Jasmine N. Sneed , for welcoming us into such a beautiful home—the PERFECT setting for our special day. 🏡

There’s something so POWERFUL about the way women can ease one another’s anxieties—simply by being present, sharing stories, and reminding each other that we are not alone. Together, we built resilience, reclaimed calm, and cherished every moment of connection.

🩷 WISH Gathering Filled with Connection & Inspiration

✨ We had an AMAZING WISH - Women Inspiring Supporting & Helping meeting yesterday morning (Thursday, Sept. 4th)! Even better—we gathered at Canapés’ beautiful new location. The space is convenient, offers plenty of parking, and of course, the food and treats are DELICIOUS. Huge thanks to ML for welcoming us back! 🥰

We were HONORED to hear from our guest speaker, Sharon Riser, Owner & CEO of The Temple Frederick and Annapolis: A Paul Mitchell Partner School, and board member of EBeauty Community. 🌸 Sharon shared about EBeauty’s mission to support women going through cancer by providing free wigs and community care. They currently partner with more than 90 hospitals and cancer centers nationwide—such an INSPIRING program!

🌟 What an AMAZING WISH Meeting! 🌟
We had the PLEASURE of gathering at WLR Automotive Group - Wash L**e Repair, who graciously hosted our August WISH August Morning Meeting at their Route 40 The Auto Spas last week. 🚗✨

Over 25 incredible attendees, including business and nonprofit leaders from across the region, came together for a morning filled with insightful discussions, meaningful connections, and a deeper look at what makes WLR truly unique.

💬 Pamela Grandstaff, Assistant to the President & CEO, kicked off the event with a powerful message about WLR’s continuous growth and, most importantly, their people-first culture. She shared how their foundation is built on three core values:
✨ Passion for People
✨ Collective Creativity
✨ Unwavering Integrity
These values guide everything they do—from their operations to their service and commitment to giving back to the communcommunity.

Jennifer Nugent, Community Engagement Manager, followed with a deep dive into WLR’s community outreach initiatives, highlighting how their commitment to giving back is embedded in their company’s DNA.

🔧 Megan Monroe, District Manager, shared exciting details about the recent renovations at the Route 40 location, showcasing WLR's dedication to constantly improving their spaces and services.

🏁 Erik Borkman, Location Manager, wrapped up the presentations with a glimpse into his role and how the upgrades are enhancing both day-to-day operations and the overall customer experience.

After the presentations, Megan and Erik led us on a behind-the-scenes tour of the tunnel and mechanical room, showing us the Auto Spa in action! 🚗💦 As a thank-you to all attendees, we were treated to a COMPLIMENTARY car wash!

A HUGE thank you to WLR Automotive Group for hosting such a fantastic event. This company truly lives by its values, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with them.

Since our July meeting falls close to the 4th of July holiday, we’ve decided to take a little break and will not be meeting next month. But don’t worry—we’ll be back soon with an exciting updated calendar full of amazing speakers, fun events, and meaningful fundraisers! 🎉✨

We were extremely honored to have guest speaker. Sabrina Hancock at our recent morning meeting on Thursday, June 5th.Sabrina Hancock is Cofounder and Director of Operations for Living Water Shower Ministry, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mobile showers, hygiene supplies, and resources for individuals in need.

Sabrina's passion for this ministry stems from her own personal experience with hardship and homelessness. Through her victory in Christ, Sabrina found the strength and purpose to give back to the community in a way that would meet tangible needs and also share the love of Christ. Sabrina is also a mother to three children, who inspire her daily to continue the work of Living Water Shower Ministry, as she teaches them the importance of compassion, empathy, and service to others.

The inspiration to create Living Water Shower Ministry came when Sabrina recognized a critical need in the community that was not being addressed—access to showers for those experiencing homelessness. As a Peer Recovery Specialist at the Frederick County Health Department, Sabrina saw firsthand how this basic necessity was often overlooked. Fueled by a vision from God, she realized that providing showers was more than just a practical service; it was an opportunity to restore dignity and offer hope to individuals in desperate situations. Through Living Water Shower Ministry, Sabrina and her team are able to bring a sense of renewal and compassion to those who need it most.

Today, we had the pure pleasure of gathering for lunch to celebrate the amazing success of our WISH (Women Inspiring, Supporting & Helping) Women’s Afternoon Tea & Fashion Show. 💐👗

We had an AMAZING morning meet last week with the INCREDIBLE WISH April Morning Meeting with Coach Karmin Simone!

Karmin Reeves Jenkins (Coach Simone) is a certified Abundant Living Coach who helps women, military women veterans, and parents of adult daughters develop strategies for living abundantly from the inside out. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Karmin helps her clients rewire negative thoughts into positive ones to help them engage in healthier behaviors. She helps them change their life stories and create new narratives impacting their relationships with others.

Coach Simmone is an empowering woman who supports transformation in relationships. Her company, Inner Healing For Abundant Living, Inc., aims to help women live abundantly despite life challenges by using a unique Neuroplastic and Multigenerational Family Systems Healing Framework.

Our conversations were genuine, coming from the HEART and SOUL and the timing was perfect for these discussions. So much Inspiration, Support, and Help in this room. Truly AMAZING ❤️

We had an AMAZING WISH - Women Inspiring Supporting & Helping meeting last week with the AWESOME Mimi McLaughlin Galanis and McLaughlin Family Chiropractic Group !
