L'Arche Frederick MD, Inc. We are people with & without disabilities sharing life together in a community of faith. We host inclusive social events open to people of all ages.

L'Arche Frederick is a nonprofit in Frederick, Maryland working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our forthcoming community home - the first of several - will welcome adults with and without IDD to live together as peers and friends. L'Arche Frederick is part of an international federation of 156 communities in 38 countries, serving over 10,000 members. Meaningful

relationships, individualized supports, and a culture of belonging are at the core of what makes L'Arche one of the most unique organizations in the country.

Chilly or not, we’re taking advantage of the spring weather together!

🚙 Will, Kelly and Trevor took in the sites of Harrisonburg on a relaxing vacation. (Check out Will doing one of his favorite things - being out in nature - in a peaceful labyrinth at the arboretum).

⛰️Will, Grace and Nana also lived it up on a trip to the Poconos!

🎉 Caraline, Paola and Megan took a roadtrip to party with L’Arche GWDC at their Heart of L’Arche Event.

You chose this month’s theme: Cupcake Wars!! 🧁
This Friday night, we’ll “battle it out” with a friendly decorating competition.

As usual, we’ll start with an activity to connect and get to know one another. Then, the games begin with different rounds of individual and group decorating. Bring your creativity and zest for sprinkles!

L’Arche provides the cupcakes and all the supplies - you decorate to your heart’s content.

The best part? You get to eat your sweet creations at the end of the night!

Lots to celebrate at L’Arche! At this month’s house community night, we gave thanks for another trip around the sun for Program Coordinator, Tiffany, & Community Leader, Megan. We shared their gifts and enjoyed lots of cake! 🥳

We also welcomed our newest core member, Paola! Together with her family, we shared a blessing and our hopes for her in our home. Here, Paola is modeling the “welcome lei” we created. 🌺 Our house community grows stronger every year!
