Ahimsa Therapy

Ahimsa Therapy Offering Somatic Psychotherapy and Yoga Therapy to support embodiment and integration. Hello and welcome! From this awareness comes the power to transform.

I am a somatic psychotherapist, yoga therapist and breathwork guide Frederick, MD. I offer an integrated approach with the intention of helping you expand your awareness with compassion. Together, we will explore the thoughts and feelings that create your reality, and with care and humor uncover new possibilities that can help you face the challenges in your life. I see many of our struggles as sy

mptoms of living in a stressful, fast-paced world. Therapy is an opportunity to slow down and tune in. My intention is to offer a soft place to land in a crazy world. I work with people who are interested in being more gentle with themselves. Some have survived trauma, loss and addiction. Others are attempting to quiet guilt, anxiety and insecurity. While others are exploring questions of sexual orientation, gender and relationship. My approach is individualized, positioning you as the expert of your life and using your strengths to navigate life's struggles. As a yoga instructor and bodyworker, I offer a mind-body-spirit perspective that helps you connect to, trust and manifest your wisdom. I encourage my clients to take what works and leave what doesn't. I am deeply honored when people open up to me and share their struggles and I am committed to supporting people in their process.

Mother :: mentor :: WEAVER OF INTERBEING Liberation is in the compassionate space between our selves and our conditioning. In that space we can see that nothing is fixed, that everything is connected and that the healing is relational. It’s not that we suffer. It’s how we hold it...with the weath...

Equanimity, for me, is a resting into neutral, neutral in the way of the pacifist, articulating themselves with a gravity that softens horizons.

Equanimity roots me into emptiness as I sit on the precipice of my own skin inhabiting the cilia in my lungs and the rim of my pores at the same time.

Equanimity is a straddling of worlds or maybe through them...weaving them into the fabric of the ocean between us, each wave an invitation to come back to the midline through micromovements and breath.

Equanimity is a practice of opening the bubbling spring at the sole of the foot and having a conversation with my wider body. Soul to sole.

It’s a soft paddle in the center of the lake in my heart. Nowhere to go. Already here.

Paddle.

What if the revolution is dropping out of the callous rigidity of capitalist linearity into a rhythm born of breathing sangha - a confluence of voices and presence so deep it births a singularity- an unrepeatable uniqueness, alive in its lacework of bird song and breath, the base note of bullfrogs and yellow of daffodils latticing through Om shanti Om - its uniqueness breathing life into the ordinary reminding us that the revolution is only right here in this very moment, this woven breath, a rip in the space time continuum, a worm hole back home to the slowness that only holiness knows.
