Water is a BIG reinforcer! We’re blessed to be neighbors with the Virginia Water Gardens. They allow our clients to walk through their beautiful scapes and show so much love and patience for our staff and clients. 💦

Just like all adults are different, so are all kids. Some want BIG, gross motor play and swinging. While others enjoy the sensory bin and space light 🪐

Take the time to try different items, activities, and places to see what each kid finds fun. As soon as you engage with what THEY love, the relationship starts to build. You cann’t expect progress without playing first.

Manding to your friend, “I want hug” for the first time is extremely reinforcing when you immediately get a hug right after asking!!! 🤗

Something might appear “small” or “not important.” However, these are BIG steps towards building and maintaining friendships, expressing wants, and using verbal language (instead of grabbing a friend for a hug).

So proud of these BIG moments of learning that will last a lifetime 🥰

We have circle time twice a day, where we read the same book for about 30 days. We pair weekly and daily activities with the book that are adjusted individually based on our learners skill level. This repetition allows for multiple opportunities to hear sounds, tact items, mand for items, and socialize.

We also have a small dance party for anyone who wants to join after we read 🎶🎤
