Healthcare News Alert: Are you aware that, beginning in 2025, many hospitals will cease accepting Medicare Advantage for various reasons?

Administrative challenges

Hospitals are frustrated by administrative delays and denials for care. These include high rates of prior authorization denials and slow payments from insurers.

Financial concerns

Hospitals are concerned about the financial impact of MA plans. MA plans can be a money loser for medical practices

New federal changes

Insurers are scaling back or eliminating MA plans to boost profits. They blame new federal changes to their reimbursements, such as a small cut to their base payments.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has recently put out new rules to address some of the medical providers' concerns. These rules include new requirements for processing prior authorizations, patient risk coding, and other reporting and transparency.
