I hope you’ll join me for a different kind of Friday night happy hour at Friday night, Feb 27. If you’ve ever wanted to focus on breathwork - this is your class. We’ll follow a specific sequence of breathwork following my deep relaxing in yoga Nidra and savasana. Hope to see you there!

and I had the chance to visit the last night and practice yoga. It was magical to be on our mats moving and breathing under these gothic arches that have witnessed so much history - MLK, Jr’s final Sunday sermon in 1968 just days before his death, the National Day of Prayer in the days following 9/11, funerals for many Presidents including Regan and Carter, the funeral site for Jane Goodall, and most recently the host site for the monks on their Walk for Peace. Truly a sacred place of peace.

Crystal and I are honored to be the Sunday evening team at for the yin class - in our own ways working to create a sacred place of peace for you. I remember a few years ago when Anne asked me about this day and time slot I was a little hesitant - not certain about committing to teaching every Sunday evening - but the universe must have known what it was doing because it’s truly something I look forward to and sets the tone for my week as well.

When Crystal and I set up for the night, we set up with the intention of creating a sacred space and moment for you. You work hard - in your job, in your family, and for our communities. Our goal is to make the Sunday yin class the tone setter you need for your week. We strive to welcome you by name, greet you with a smile and warmth, and guide you through poses that nourish you - mind, body, and spirit. This is our Sunday promise to you.

Come see us soon. Let’s make our Sundays sacred, friends.

2025 was about getting back to the basics with our yoga practice. 2026 will be a focus on sustainability.

I’ll continue to teach the Sunday night candlelight yin & restorative at 5pm at . (Yin is amazing! 🔥)

We’ll be shifting the focus of the Thursday night 7pm class at the main studio to focus on self-care - the kind we can manage to fit into our schedules long term - small efforts that lead to big impact - allowing us to feel like our most authentic selves - mind, body, and spirit. Perfect for new students or seasoned yogis.

Expect to see an Ayurveda 101 workshop in February and a special Friday night class for Pranayama and Yoga Nidra. (More to come soon.)

For the first time in 7 years, I will not be leading or partnering for a yoga retreat. If you’re interested in a retreat for 2026 though, check out the schedule from for east coast options in grounding WV, sunny FL, or international options.

Speaking of international options, while I’m not offering or partnering for a retreat this year, be sure to get your passports ready and begin putting a little away in savings each month for 2027! I’ve started some preliminary conversations with Yogi Expeditions for an international location. ✈️ Want a hint? It was the first destination in Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat Pray Love memoir - a book that turns 20 this year and reminds us to enjoy the journey. I’m rereading Eat Pray Love this year as a reminder of life’s journey.

I’ll be spending time in study - attending some trainings for continuing education (CEs) and am excited to see yoga teacher friends at the Mind Body Fitness Conference returning to Arlington, VA this November with .

My Big Fitness Goals (BFG) this year include a Yeti 25K (Troublesome Hollow), climbing Mt Washington on the Appalachian Trail with , the Hatfield McCoy Half Marathon in WV, and toying with the idea of a Spartan. I’ll need my yoga practice to support all of this. 🙏

I have some personal goals that have been important to me for years that I’ve only shared with a few close friends but am excited to share more widely when the time is right.

Happy New Year! Let’s Go!

Self-Care Isn’t Optional in 2026.

It’s non-negotiable. Period.

Running yourself into the ground isn’t strength—it’s a slow burnout.

While I teach yoga - I also have a high pressure 9-5. I have family I worry about. And sometimes I try to be all things to all people just like you. I get it. I see you. You’ve put yourself last on the list sometimes. Maybe your physical or mental health has paid the price. Maybe your spirit needs renewal. Maybe you want to make sure you stay strong. Whatever your reason, we’ve got you.

Stress is constant. Pressure is real. Responsibilities don’t let up. And pretending we’ll “deal with it later” usually means dealing with it when something finally breaks.

That’s why self-care has to be non-negotiable in 2026 for us.

Yoga isn’t about being flexible or calm all the time. It’s about disciplined practice. The Yoga Sutras remind us: abhyāsa (consistent effort) and vairāgya (letting go of what drains you) are how steadiness is built.

We don’t wait to feel ready. We commit to showing up and doing the work now. Together.

Starting in January 2026, Thursday nights at 7pm, at the main studio at . This weekly yoga class is a space to practice the discipline of self care. To move with purpose, breathe, and build resilience.

We will train our nervous system. We will make the connections - mind, body, and spirit.

Hope to see you there. Appropriate for all levels. Message me with any questions.

Authenticity.

Genuine. Real. True.

This word keep showing up for me as I wind down 2025 & I’m leaning into taking it with me into 2026 as my values word of the year.

What does showing up to your yoga practice in an authentic way look like for you? How does showing up off the mat as your most authentic self look like?

As this year closes, yoga invites us to soften the layers we no longer need and come home to who we truly are. May our practice honor our truth—on and off the mat. Let’s work to step into the new year grounded, honest, and whole.

2026 needs to be a year of reigniting self-care for me. I hope you’ll join me!

As the year comes to a close, our practice invites us to pause, breathe, and honor how far we’ve come.

Join me on the mat as we slow down, release what’s heavy, and create space for what’s next.

Let’s close the year with presence, gratitude, and movement that feels like coming home.

Hope to see you Thursday night at 7pm at at the main studio on Caroline Street for Yang & Yin. Let’s close the year with intention. 🙏
