Children in Hot Cars FREE E-learning Course

Since 1998, hundreds of children have died in hot cars. What’s most alarming is that all of these deaths were preventable.

You can help prevent hot car deaths—starting right now! This course can be completed in about 10 minutes—the same amount of time it takes a car interior to heat up to dangerous temperatures. Last week, COPE hosted a holiday event at alongside our partners St. George, , and , as well as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus 🎅🏻🧑🏻‍🎄

We gave away 100 children’s gifts and goodie bags, 300+ articles of clothing, and other items like blankets, shoes, bags, and hats.

We can’t wait to do this all again next year! But before then, join us for COPE’s next attendance at The Table on January 7th.

You've seen us boost our rural car seat events with REMS and volunteer fire and rescue. Our technicians often open this conversation when they are meeting with caregivers at our rural car seat stations. Please share this with parents (and grandparents) of littles!

We are so fortunate to have pedestrian friendly areas in our region - however, please heed the reminder to wear bright and reflective items when you are outside in lower visibility areas. They should be as much a part of what you wear as your comfortable shoes and athletic gear. Be healthy out there and enjoy our area - but please be safe!

COPE Wellness/Rappahannock EMS Council joined our close partners, St. George's Episcopal Church - Fredericksburg and Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic, for their weekly The Table at St. George's.

The Table is an open market fresh food pantry, specializing in local farm produce. They are open for shopping every Tuesday 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. in Market Square next to St. George's Episcopal Church.

COPE will be attending again on November 5th with materials for National Diabetes Month and free goodies! Feel free to stop by for fresh bread, fruits, and vegetables, as well as goodies and fun chats.

Jake DeNap, Director of Mission and Evangelism at St. George's, explained it best when he said, "we want the relationships that are formed here to be as nourishing as the produce we provide."
