Wishing you a peaceful Memorial Day. 🇺🇸
Freedom isn’t free.
For many, today brings barbecues, games, and a long weekend. But for others — spouses, children, parents, friends, battle buddies, and veterans — it’s a day of remembrance and grief. Words matter.
Today, we honor all who gave their lives in service to this country — both on the battlefield and in the fight that continued after coming home.
Memorial Day is a time to remember the fallen — including those who faced invisible wounds and lost that war here at home. Their sacrifices are just as real. Their memories, just as sacred.
We hold space for all who gave everything — in war and its aftermath. Your courage will never be forgotten, and your names will always be spoken with honor.
In our home, we remember:
🇺🇸 Top Left: SGT Rockwood
🇺🇸 Top Middle: MSG K
🇺🇸 Top Right: SGT Donaldson
🇺🇸 Bottom Left: My dear friend, Obenhaus
🇺🇸 Bottom Middle: SPC Cummings & SGT Cummings
🇺🇸 Bottom Right: SPC Sanders — my husband’s best friend, his ride or die
Thank you. We remember you. We miss you. 🕊️
And let me say this: PTSD is real. It’s relentless. It’s claimed too many of our veterans.
Three of the seven we honor today lost the war at home — after carrying more than anyone should. So today, please be gentle. Extend grace. And honor their sacrifices not just with words, but with understanding and care.
"Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy forget in time that men have died to win them." -FDR
