Melissa Jackson is a Supervisee in Social Work. She obtained an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice in 2018, working as a public safety dispatcher before switching career paths to Social Work. Melissa went on to obtain her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Rutgers University in 2022 and her Master's degree in clinical social work from the University of Kentucky in 2023. Throughout her educational endeavors, Melissa obtained clinical and case management experience with non-profit organizations, housing services, and private practice sectors. 
Melissa is working towards her licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Melissa has experience working with many different client populations of children, teens, and adults with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood and personality disorders, trauma, addiction/recovery, life stressors, and other related issues. Melissa is experienced in offering individual, couples, family, and group sessions.
Melissa uses a person-centered approach, understanding that each person's path is unique, and she tailors evidence-based techniques to meet her client’s individual needs. Melissa understands the complexities of the human experience and implements a strong focus on theories of attachment, psychodynamics, and family systems. 
She utilizes a multitude of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Her goal as a therapist is to unconditionally support each client in managing their concerns and helping them achieve their goals through psychotherapy.
