UPDATE: The Extreme Cold Watch for Tuesday night, Wednesday and early Thursday has been expanded into parts of North Texas, West Texas, Central Texas, the Concho Valley, Permian Basin, Big Country and Hill Country (Originally issued for the Panhandle and NW Texas)

This ‘extreme cold’ for Texas standards will include minimum temperatures in the single digits and low teens, and wind chills likely below zero within the area (colder the further north you are).

Brooke Rollins, a former student of Texas A&M University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, was confirmed today as U.S. Agriculture Secretary. Her commitment to public service began at Texas A&M and has continued throughout her career. She is the first Aggie and the first Texan to hold this position, marking a significant milestone.
