Since childhood, Garrett has had a love for exercise and sports. Because of his desire to be fit, he decided to pursue a degree in kinesiology. In 2004, Garrett earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Kinesiology from Longwood University. From there he went on to train at ACAC (the 7th best fitness club in the country). Here, he learned from some of the best physical therapists and personal trainers around. He also received his certification with National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) while at ACAC. Garrett has spent the last 5 years training and is now the owner and sole trainer of Green Fitness. In addition to personal training, Garrett also teaches tennis to all ages. Garrett was a four year starter at Longwood University where he played singles and doubles. He has since used this knowledge on some of the brightest up and coming tennis players in the Fredericksburg area. Garrett is also certified by the Chek Institute in stability ball exercises. With this special certification, he has been able to help many people recovering from a stroke or a spinal cord injuries. These exercises came in handy when Garrett needed to rehab himself after a low back injury that caused him to need surgery. This gives him a unique understanding of what you may be going through. BIG CHANGES COMING 2026!!! will be renovating and moving into a larger space inside the former purina tower warehouse in January. Once their renovation is done. We will be adding Eden‘s market and the gutsy Herbalist attached to Green Fitness in February. We can’t be more excited for both of these small businesses and what they have to offer to our great community.

Stafford Soccer Boosters will be selling $3 Hot Chocolate outside Green Fitness tomorrow from 4-6pm before the Christmas Parade to help send the Stafford Soccer team to a tournament on January 10-11th. We will also have our restrooms opened.

This Monday our winter field hockey classes begin. We will have class every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 6pm and Saturdays at 10am. Monday’s Coach Barnes () From Stafford and Prestige will help with Stick skills. Thursday class Coach Cooke (.m.cooke) from Mountain View will be doing stick skills. 4 months ago I went on a cruise. My daughter asked me to ride a ride with her. When I got on a red light started flashing. The attendant told me, sorry you are to heavy to ride this ride. I was baffled. I stepped on their scale and it registered 253lbs. Needless to say I have never been over 250lbs in my life. When I got home I rededicated my attention to myself. Since then I have now lost 33lbs and officially hit my goal before the beach. Damn it feels so good.

It is with a very heavy heart that today we lost one of the staples to Green Fitness Lilly Horn. Lilly has been coming to me for 9 years. Her smile and her personality would light up the room. Her passing has left a giant hole in all of our hearts. Please say a prayer tonight for her husband William and her family. Lilly suffered a spinal cord injury 15 years ago and has faced everyday in a positive way through all her advertisy. Working with her for the last 9 years has been some of the best moments of my career. Seeing her stand for the first time since her injury watching her gain strength and just to have someone to talk to 4 hours each week. Tuesday and Thursday 12-2 won’t be the same without you and Susie there.

Green Fitness and Wellness is excited to welcome back Dr. Scott Heppe with FXBG Chiropractic back to our location. Dr Scott will be bringing back his expertise and will begin seeing patients in early May. We are over joyed to be having such a knowledgeable chiropractor back on our grounds. Let’s all give Dr. Scott a huge warm welcome. Please stay tuned for more updates.
