No matter what your reason for spending this holiday season alone, some basic tips can make the day more bearable. Be Prepared for Emergencies: Know the signs of overdose and how to respond, including having naloxone on hand if applicable. Also, be aware of emergency contact numbers, such as 988 and 911, or your local emergency services numbers.

1. Remember that it’s just another day.
2. If you miss family connection, seek out service opportunities to give back.
3. Reach out with no expectations.
4. Movies are your best friend.
5. Take the time to take care of yourself.

Sometimes, a holiday is just another day to get by. Getting by can be good enough.
